Benjamin & Lori are hopeful adoptive parents from Nevada waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Our Sweet Family We just want to start by saying how much we love and appreciate you and what you are doing. We can only try to imagine how difficult it must be to make this kind of decision. We hope that in the end you will be able to feel at peace with whatever you decide. As we look to the future we know that whenever we look into the face of our child we will see the selfless act someone made by giving us what we could not give ourselves.

Right now we are a family of three anxiously waiting to become a family of four. We have been married for eight years. When we were first married we thought, as most young couples imagine, that life would be perfect. We had everything planned out. We would wait a year and then have our first child. From then on we would have another child approximately every two years until we had about four or five children. Well, life doesn't always go as planned. After a few years of doctors, procedures and crying, waiting wondering, and pleading we found out that Lori would be unable to get pregnant because of severe endometriosis. While this has been a great challenge it has brought us some of our most treasured experiences as we have gone through the adoption process.

Now let us tell you a little more about us. We are Ben, Lori, Makayla, and Josie (our dog.) We live in a small town in Nevada. Two years ago we were blessed with our beautiful little girl Makayla through adoption. We had the chance to work with a wonderful birthmother who we still keep in contact with through letters and pictures. Meeting our bithmother and going through the adoption process was the most amazing and sweet experience. We love Makayla so much. She is the world to us. We can't wait to meet another bithmother and bring another child into this small but loving family.
Our Personalities Ben is the third child of seven and the oldest boy. He has a very close family who love spending time together. Most of his family lives in Utah but we love going back for visits as often as possible. Ben is a lawyer and loves his job. He especially enjoys this job because it allows him to spend a lot of time home with his family. We recently bought our first home and Ben has enjoyed fixing up our yard. He loves picking out plants and trees but mostly he loves working in the garden. We have been told that most vegetables don't grow here in this area but that hasn't stopped Ben from trying. Ben loves the outdoors. We love going on day trips to explore the area we live in. We love going to Lake Tahoe to hike, swim, or just look at the beautiful scenery. Ben also loves music. He loves playing music on his trombone or just listening to a great piece of music on the stereo. The best part of Ben's life is his family. He loves spending time with them whenever possible. Ben and Makayla love to play and laugh together. Makayla likes to have him wrap her doll up in a blanket and feed it a bottle. After the doll is taken care of Makayla likes daddy to chase her around the house. They laugh and scream and have a blast. She has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

Lori is the second child of five and the oldest girl. She has three brothers and one sister. She is close to all of her siblings but especially her sister. They are eight years apart but that doesn't stop them from talking on the phone for hours. Lori has a wonderful relationship with both her mom and dad but there is an extra special one with her mom. She is Lori's best friend. She is always there to lend a listening ear to Lori's problems. She never judges just listens and tries to help in her own way. Lori wants to have that kind of special relationship with all her children. Lori stays at home with Makayla and loves every minute of it. She loves reading to and playing with Makayla. She finds little art projects that they can do together. They love sending grandma and grandpa little gifts they have made together. Lori has several friends in the church and the neighborhood who have children. They get together a few times a week to let the kids play and the women talk. It is great for both Makayla and Lori. In her spare time, which there isn't much of these days, Lori enjoys scrapbooking. She is trying to keep Makayla's scrapbook up-to-date so that when a new baby comes she can start on that immediately. When Makayla was a year old Lori made a book for her about her adoption. Makayla loves reading this story all about her. Lori plans on making a special book for each one of our future children. Lori also loves to cook. She is constantly trying new recipes and testing them on the family.

All of our extended family loves Makayla like crazy. They feel that she is extra special because she is adopted. They are so excited for us to bring another child into our family through this process.
Our Pride and Joy At this time we are blessed to have a beautiful little girl named Makayla. She is two years old and the joy of our lives. Makayla came to us the day after she was born from a wonderful birthmother. We have loved every minute of Makayla's growing up. She has the sweetest personality towards everyone. She loves playing with mommy, daddy, and her dog Josie. She enjoys giving hugs and kisses to everyone. Even the dog. She loves wearing dresses. When Lori puts one on her she starts twirling around. Then she goes and shows daddy how pretty she is. Even though she is young we know that she will be a wonderful big sister. She loves being around babies and wants to help with everything. Whenever she hears a child cry she goes up to them, gives them a hug, and says, "Okay, Okay?" Makayla loves life. She is always happy. She loves to color, read, play with her dolls, sing, and dance. Her favorite game is to have mommy or daddy chase her around the house. She laughs the whole time we are running. She also loves playing and taking care of Josie. She will get Josie's toy and start shaking it around calling "Jos, Jos." She loves to have Josie sit on her lap so she can give her hugs and kisses. We thank our Heavenly Father every day for sending us our precious Makayla.
Our Journey We are so excited to start this process of adoption again. We know that it is a long and hard one for all people involved but we have learned that it is truly a blessing and a miracle. We can only try to imagine how difficult it must be for you to face this type of decision, one that you probably never imagined you would be faced with. In the end our only desire is that you can look back on this experience and know that you made the right decision. You will always be respected and loved by us and never forgotten. Your son or daughter will become part of a warm and loving family and will always feel cherished. We are truly grateful for your consideration in thinking of us.

Much Love,
Ben, Lori, & Makayla
