Our Letter
Dear Friend,
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and getting to know our family a little better. We know that we can't begin to understand how difficult all of this is; but we want you to know that we're grateful for the hope and chance birthparents give us to add onto our little family. Family is very important to us and everything we do is planned and based around it.
We met in college in 1996 and became good friends immediatley. After several months our friendship grew into love and we got married in July 1997. It's been 10 years, and they have just flown by. But through all the "storms of life" it has been our friendship that has strengthened our marriage and helped us make it through.
We have both earned our Associates of Science degree. Cory has earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nursing. We feel that knowledge and a good education are important to every person’s life; they provide both understanding of the world around us and can give a person greater self-confidence.
We moved into our home in November of 2002 and have just recently finished construction in the basement. It’s in a newer neighborhood so houses are always under construction. We have quite a view with a lake nearby and mountains all around – it’s beautiful. We have a fully fenced backyard with plenty of grass for playing, a large swing set and trampoline for high-energy children. Cory moved around quite a bit while growing up so we're excited for our family to have a home we can call our own.
Both of us come from large families and we feel that all children need siblings. We can’t imagine being without our family. Our best friends are each other and the members of our families. Living close to our extended families has helped us to continue strong family relationships. Both of our families are very supportive of the decisions we have made and do make in our lives. They are all so excited to see our family grow.
Our little family is a lot of fun, love, and laughter (and a little healthy chaos) type of family. Where our family motto should be what a sign in our bathroom says: “Welcome to Camp Run-a-Muk: Snipe Hunting, Bear Wrestling, and Skinny Dipping” (in the bath tub of course). We let every day be a new start and go with whatever comes.
We enjoy spending as much time together as possible. We like to read together, play games of all sorts, do puzzles, play outside, jump on the trampoline, go on walks, go the park, and do anything that has to do with sports.
Brittany takes great joy in planning our many family activities and vacations together. Sometimes they are just weekend get-a-ways to a close by attraction. And other times, it’s the big attractions like Disneyland and Sea World. But wherever we are, we enjoy spending the time together and away from the all the regular daily schedules.
Thank you for the chance and hope you give to people who are trying to build their families. Thank you for being the strong individual that you are. We love and appreciate you with all our hearts.
Your Friends,
Cory, Brittany, Taylor, Joshua, & Samantha

About Cory & Brittany
Cory is a hard worker, but is fun and has a unique sense of humor. He is a Family Nurse Practitioner and works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital. He loves his job and works hard to support our family. He is wonderful with children, he just gets right in with whatever they are doing and plays right along. He is such a great father and friend. He loves sports (basketball the most), music, reading, learning, exercising, and weightlifting. He also plays the guitar and is learning to play the piano. He loves to read and has found great joy in helping our children learn to read as well. He really wants to be a part of his children’s lives and not just a provider. He wants to go to all the activities and events and be there for everything. Cory is a wonderful husband who always lets us know he loves us. We couldn’t ask for a better husband or father.
Brittany is a mother, mom, and a mommy. She is loving, understanding, patient, and loves being a stay-at-home mom. She’s very dedicated to the activities and people in her life, and she works hardest when it’s for someone else. She is full of laughter; it’s not often that you see her without a big smile on her face. She has a big heart and loves people. Her favorite activities (aside from being a mom) are playing the piano, baking, cooking, sewing, and decorating cakes. Holidays are important to her as she likes to decorate the house and be a part of all holiday activities. Brittany makes all the birthday cakes and as many of the costumes for Halloween as she can. She’s one to celebrate life and family traditions every chance she gets.
About Our Kids
Taylor is 7 and is in the First grade. He loves to learn and is very advanced in his reading. His favorite subjects are dinosaurs, insects, reptiles, and anything with teeth, claws, or poison fangs. He is very loving and sensitive and is quick to give a hug. Taylor is also very athletic with a love for singing and music. He’s a wonderful big brother.
Joshua is 5 and moves non-stop from morning to night. We always joke that if he would just stop moving, he’d fall asleep more often. Joshua is in Kindergarten and is excited about riding the orange bus. He also loves to learn about dinosaurs, insects, reptiles, and anything with teeth, claws, or poison fangs. He absolutely loves his older brother and tries to keep pace with him in everything. He loves his little sister and plays very well with her despite their size difference. Joshua gives hard kisses, but is trying to be soft. He’s an amazing little guy.
Samantha is 3 and is very much a little girl. She is little, but don’t let her size fool you. She keeps up with her big brothers and gives them ‘a run for their money’. Her favorite toys to play with are the ones with buttons to push and the kitchen toys. Even with two big brothers she is very much a little girl.
