Hello!
We are David and Susan. Thank you for taking time to learn about us. Our dream is to become loving and devoted parents through adoption. We realize this is one of the most difficult and courageous decisions you will make and how important it is for you to choose the best parents for your child. We pray that you will have peace and comfort in your decision and we hope that we will have the opportunity to meet you ~ and together celebrate the miracle of life.
Our beginnings…
We met in November of 1996 at our place of employment. We developed a unique connection and became friends. We discovered that we grew up in the same town and lived close to each other. We soon began to date and throughout our courtship, we enjoyed doing so many new things together. We hiked at Jim Thorpe in the Pennsylvania Pocono’s. We kayaked and biked, exploring new trails and beautiful scenery. A very special bond and love brought us together and we quickly fell in love. In the summer of 1999, while walking on the Sea Isle City, New Jersey beach, David got down on his knee and proposed. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. We were married in October of 2001.
Why we want to adopt…
We love children and hope to make your child’s life very special. When we got married, we dreamed of starting a family. After many disappointments of trying to conceive on our own, we sought the help of a fertility specialist. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful. We quickly realized that God’s plan for us is to become parents through the wonderful experience of adoption. Our love, laughter and support for one another have truly helped us through our discouraging times. We pray for the special time when God welcomes a child into our lives. We fully support and hope that we can keep in contact with you throughout your child’s life to share pictures, letters and stories. We respect any decision you make.
David…
David is a remarkable person. He is kind, compassionate and caring. He always puts others first. David is a positive role model and is looked up to by his family, friends and peers. He has a great sense of humor and always makes people laugh. He enjoys life’s simple things, like cutting the grass on his new tractor and watching the beautiful deer cross our backyard. David takes pride in everything he does. He can fix anything you ask him to. Whatever any one asks him to do; he happily does it with a smile. He is currently installing ceiling fans in each of our rooms so that we will be cool in the hot weather. I feel so lucky and honored to be a part of his life. David is an office manager for a mortgage company in Media, PA., which is very close to our house. He is always trying to learn new things. David has two wonderful children. David, his son is fourteen and Devon, his daughter is eighteen. David is a dedicated father who will do anything for his children. He goes to every one of his kid’s games and cheers them on the sideline. He supports and gently teaches them ways to improve their game and commends them on a remarkable performance. Both children are very excited to welcome a brother or sister into our family. The special bond David shares with his children is very honorable. He can’t wait to become a father again.
Susan…
Susan is an extremely loving and caring person. From the day we met, I noticed how kind she is and how she touches people’s lives in a very special way. She dedicates much of her life to helping people however she can. She takes special care of her mother and family. She loves children and has a deep desire to be a mother. Many people seek Susan’s help with personal training and fitness. She has studied to be a certified personal training during her free time. She believes health and wellness are very important for people of all ages. She is a strong advocate of education and encourages others to continually learn and grow. She spends a lot of time with David and Devon, her stepchildren. She helps them with their homework, teaches them gymnastics, and takes them kayaking. She enjoys laughing and having a lot of fun. In her stepson’s class meeting, he was asked what person he most admired and he chose Susan, his step mom because she was so nice and smart. Susan’s step-daughter Devon chose her to be her Confirmation sponsor. Like David, Susan enjoys cycling very much. She enjoys the benefits of staying fit by exercising regularly. She also enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, walking, and laying in the hammock, enjoying nature. She is a segment manager for a national distributor and has the flexibility of working from home, allowing her to be a full time mom. She looks forward to taking her children to school, church and sporting activities. She can’t wait to dedicate her life to being a mom.
Home & community…
We live in a cozy and spacious split level house in Chester County, Pennsylvania. We have done so much to truly make it our home. We have a huge front and back yard which are very open but private. We live in one of the most reputable school districts in the country. Our neighborhood is very safe and is surrounded by dozens of children and very nice people. We are involved in the community by going to church every Sunday and volunteering at the local mushroom festival. We also ride in the American Cancer Society bike-a-thon every year to raise money towards the cure for cancer. This is a 68 mile ride. It is very rewarding as we finish the race, because we know we’ve made a difference in people’s lives by raising money for a very important cause. We love pets and have two cats, Eddie and Buddy, and a dog named Chip. The color of Chip’s fur looks like chocolate chip cookie dough. All of our animals are very loving and gentle.
Our families…
We both come from loving supportive families who are very excited about our decision to adopt. We were both born and raised in middle class suburbs. David’s family lives close to us. He has two sisters and a brother. We spend quality time with his family and share every holiday and occasion with them. All of his siblings are married with children. David always helps his parents around their house. He visits them after work to share the day’s events and helps them with their household duties. His parents are forever grateful to him. Susan’s family also lives very close. She has a sister who is close by and takes great care of their mother. Her brother is blessed with a beautiful wife and daughter of whom Susan is the Godmother. Susan helps to take care of her by teaching her gymnastics, swimming and how to care and treat people kindly. Like David’s family, we spend a great deal of time with Susan’s family. We often have them over for cookouts regularly and to celebrate special times. Families are our foundations. We are both blessed.
Fun times…
Couch potatoes we are not! We are very active. We like to go for walks, hikes and bike rides. Every summer we go to the Jersey Shore for vacation. We have both vacationed there all of our lives. We also enjoy going to the Pocono’s to mountain bike and site see. We enjoy the designated trails which have remarkable scenery and waterfalls. We encourage and include David’s children in our adventures to make sure they also stay active and healthy. Susan weight trains with David Jr and helps prep him for football season. She teaches both her step children gymnastics in their backyard and sets up fun obstacle courses. The family unit is one of the most important aspects of our lives and we both cherish and value each moment spent with them.
Our faith…
We were both born and raised as Catholics. We have been baptized and have received all of the sacraments. Every Sunday we go to church to pray and thank God for our blessings. We also ask him to bless us with the precious gift of a baby some day. God has helped of us through many of life’s trials and tribulations. We say grace before every dinner and pray together every night. We believe in raising our children in a Christian environment. We believe that families who pray together stay together.
Open adoption…
We intend to tell our child that he or she is adopted at a very early age. We want you to feel confident that we will respect your needs and desires of openness with your baby. We will instill upon them how much their birthparents care for and love them and will gladly discuss and support an open adoption arrangement with you. We respect whatever plan is best for you. We would very much like to provide a warm, loving and stable environment for your child and know how important that is for the birthparents to know this. We want to share our home, our children, and our family with our precious gift from God ~ our adopted baby.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us. We are thrilled to share our life story with you and hope you will consider us to adopt your child. If we are chosen, we will be eternally grateful for the incredible gift and sacrifice you bestowed up on us. We promise to be loving and caring parents and to dedicate our lives to your child. We wish you peace and comfort in your decision. Our prayers are with you.
God Bless You Always!
David & Susan
