Forest & Candy are hopeful adoptive parents from Oklahoma waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother We want you to know that while we do not know how you feel as a birthparent, and we do not know you personally, there are many things that we do know about you. We know that you are very selfless, and loving. Having adopted before, and having the opportunity to spend a lot of time with our son's birthmother, we know just how incredibly selfless you are. We know that you love this baby, and yet you are still willing to allow us to care and love this child as well. We know that you must be a spiritual person in order to know that you have been given this opportunity to make our family's prayers become answered. we know that everything in life happens for a reason, and we know that this adoption was meant to be.
How we came to be... We have a very interesting and unique story. Our lives are dotted with many "meant to be's". We met in high school and dated for a little over a year. We were definitely each other's first love. We attended prom together, but after graduation went our separate ways knowing that we were both too young to settle down. After twelve years we reunited when Forest's sister came into a restaurant that Candy owned. The conversation began with reminiscing and ended in the fact that neither one us was married. It didn't take long for us to pick up were we left off, and we were married the next year. We adopted our son, River, a little over two years later. We know without a doubt the reason that we are unable to have children was because we were meant to be River's parents. We were very lucky and had the opportunity to spend much time with River's birth mother and grandmother.

Our Home We recently built our home in a neighborhood right next to the elementary school Candy teaches at. Our home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath on a large corner lot. Our neighborhood has a splash park and lots of families with younger children.
Family We are both very close to our families and see them every week. We talk on the phone daily. We live very close to our families and spend a lot of time with them. We often spend holidays together, since our families have know each other for many years.

We are so lucky to have two very supportive families. Candy's parents have supported her through college, business ventures(or more like adventures) and our adoption of River. Candy's dad is adopted so it's something that has always been talked about in our families. Forest's parents have stood by him when he made the decision to join the navy even though it saddened them to see him go.

The arrival of River was so incredibly anticipated that we think he came two weeks early because he knew we just couldn't wait one more minute. We are already feeling the same way again. River is very eager to become a big brother. And the grandparents are eager to "spoil" another kiddo.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little better. Good luck in your search for just the right family.
