We just adopted a 6 month old boy whose mother contacted us after reading our profile on Parent Profiles. We flew across the country to meet the birthfamily and the baby a week after the birthmother first contacted us. We established a great relationship with our son's birthmother over the next week, spending almost every day with her and the baby. I will have lots of great details pictures and stories to tell my little one when he starts asking questions. One week and a lot of running around later we were flying home with our little son. He came just in time for father's day. Our little miracle took exactly 9 months to arrive...strange but true. We have been home for a week now and our little bundle of joy is settling right in. We didn't plan on adopting a 6 month old but we are tickled pink at the way things worked out. During our time on PP we were contacted by many birthmothers. Our first match came a week after we posted our ad. We were so happy that we had been one of those miracle situations that worked out right away. After working with this couple for over 5 months they called us and said they had decided to keep the baby. We were really upset but we jumped right back into things. We had about 4-10 contacts a month over the time we were on the site. We couldn't be happier with the outcome though the ride was a little bumpy. We plan on using PP again when we adopt our next child.
