Since activating our profile 3 ½ months ago, we were contacted by 27 birth families – far more than we ever could have imagined! Many of them were “shopping around” and talking to other families. Others weren’t seriously considering placement, and still others weren’t the right fit for us. Just when we were starting to get frustrated that maybe we couldn’t find the right family through this process, we were contacted by our birth dad who thought that the birth mom would agree with him that we were the right choice. After talking several times a week for seven weeks, they have let us know that we’re having a boy and that we’re officially matched! We are planning to meet our birth family in a couple of months.
