We activated our account on Parent Profiles in Aug. 2008. 3 days later we were contacted by a birthmother! We were quickly matched and we spent 4 months getting to know each other through emails, texts, and an in-person meeting. Our beautiful daughter was born on December 20, 2008. We spent 3 days caring for her, but our birthmom ended up changing her mind and we lost our daughter two days before Christmas. It was absolutely devastating, but it was not the end to our adoption story!

We put our profile back online in January 2009 without high hopes. By the beginning of March we decided to change course and pursue adopting an older child out of foster care. I emailed parentprofiles to take our profile down. An hour later I got an email from a birthmom that had seen our profile on parentprofiles that day. She said that she had a 3.5 year old son and was wondering if maybe we'd be open to adopting an older child! YES!

3 weeks later our son was home. Our 6 year old son loves having a new brother to play Star Wars games with, and our 3.5 year old daughter loves having a "twin." All 3 kids get along phenomenally! This has definitely been a match made in heaven! We love our little boy so much! He has been an amazing addition to our family! I tell everyone I know who is adopting to use parentprofiles. Although our story is bittersweet, we are so thankful to have our son, and we are thankful to parentprofiles for helping our birthmoms find us!
