The birth mother signed off her rights just yesterday and we are still 1500 miles from home.
We learned last Monday about a little girl 3 years old and a little boy 5 months that the mother wanted to put up for adoption. The mother was in some trouble and did not want to see her children put in foster care. She called an adoption advertising agency and they saw our site on parent profiles and matched us with the birth mother. We had a 3 way phone call with the birth mom and case worker and she asked us how fast we could get to Tulsa.
We left the same day and drove straight through. We met with the birth mother and children. Then we spent the next day together and then she asked that we take the children to be with us. Two days later she signed off her rights. The little girl has curly blond hair like me. The little boy is the cutest smiliest happy boy. He is such a little chunker. He loves to eat, play, and sleep. They fit in perfectly with our family. We are so proud of our birth mother. She is very courageous. She knows we can make a better life for her children.
