This pregnancy calendar is a chart of what to expect during your pregnancy and what is happening to your body. It's up to you to do the research to make the pregnancy calendar useful to your situation.
A pregnancy calendar is useful because it allows you to see what you've already been through and what's up next. You can also make notes of changes to your body you may feel you want to discuss with your doctor when you next see him or her. You can also use your pregnancy calendar as a diary for doctor's appointments, antenatal classes, etc., and to express your thoughts and feelings over the weeks.
| Weeks 1 to 2 | Experiencing pregnancy symptoms, including emotional upheaval, cessation of periods, nausea, tender breasts, etc. Only a blood test will show if you are pregnant. Is a few tiny cells |
| Weeks 3 to 6 | You really start to feel pregnant. At about 4 weeks, a urine test will show you are pregnant. The baby's heart is beating and the placenta is developing. |
| Weeks 7 to 8 | You should start discussing your pregnancy more seriously with your doctor, including the possible need for any extra blood tests, like that for your Rhesus status. Your embryo is fast approaching a fetus and is recognizable as a human form. |
| Weeks 9 to 10 | You will start noticing a gain in weight. You are urinating frequently. The fetus has most of its organs. |
| Weeks 11 to 14 | Many side effects of pregnancy, like morning sickness, will have ceased. Your baby is growing rather than developing new parts. |
| Weeks 15 to 18 | You're probably rather enjoying your pregnancy now. Your baby is growing rapidly and sometimes you will feel him or her moving. |
| Weeks 19 to 23 | You were enjoying your pregnancy, but you're becoming very heavy now. Your baby probably has hair by now and even teeth. |
| Weeks 24 to 28 | You may experience tiny, harmless, painless contractions on occasion. You should probably give notice at work for maternity leave. Your baby's sleep patterns are erratic |
| Weeks 29 to 33 | You need to rest a lot now and keep up your strength. You should have made most plans for your labor, including a birth story. Your baby will probably have turned head down by now. |
| Weeks 34 to 37 | Start attending antenatal classes regular. Baby even has perfectly formed fingernails! |
| Weeks 38 to 40 | You will feel heavy, tired and perhaps a little fearful. Rest often. The little one is not so little anymore and seems to be indicating it's time to leave home. |
