Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Crisis Pregnancy Centers

An unplanned pregnancy can be a terrifying experience. You may feel lost or alone, scared or confused. You may not have the support you need or the necessary resources to do what you need to do by yourself. This could include exploring your options, doctor visits, hospital stays, proper pregnancy nutrition, or adequate financial resources. It may seem that there are a million and one things to figure out. This can be especially overwhelming for those who lack familial support or firsthand pregnancy experience or knowledge.

We are a family who loves each other. We support each other, and do our very best for one another. We believe in God, family, prayer, scripture, and keeping our family unit strong.

Throughout your journey, keep in mind that you do have resources available to you. There are community-run programs, federal support and aid, and local and online support groups. One possible resource that is often overlooked is a local crisis pregnancy center, also called a pregnancy resource center. These centers can provide you with useful information regarding your health, your current situation, your pregnancy, and your many options.

Crisis pregnancy centers are non-profit organizations that are usually geared towards discouraging abortion and encouraging pro-life options, like parenting or adoption. Most crisis pregnancy centers are built upon conservative Christian ideals and principles, and they continue to run their centers in the same manner. While visiting a crisis pregnancy center may not be the best choice for everyone, it does have some great benefits.

Pregnancy Testing and Prenatal Services: Many local crisis pregnancy centers offer free pregnancy testing and other prenatal services. If you'd like to confirm that you're pregnant or you'd like to make sure you don't have an infection that can harm your baby, visiting a crisis pregnancy center might be a great option to consider.

Peer Counseling: Sometimes people find it helpful to talk with their peers about life experiences, exploring options, and upcoming decisions that need to be made. Peer counseling is usually in the form of support groups. You'll be able to discuss your personal experiences and the possible options with people who have been exactly where you are now. Take some time to reap new insight into your situation, your needs, and your desires. Participating in peer counseling can help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself.

Options Counseling: If you'd like counseling on a more professional basis, options counseling can be a great resource. You'll work one-on-one with a professional therapist or counselor. You'll explore your many options and really delve into the pros and cons of each choice. Remember, making an informed decision is crucial to your future happiness. Options counseling can get you to that point.

A crisis pregnancy center is just one more great resource for those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and for those exploring their many options. Even if you decide that this resource isn't right for your situaiton, crisis pregnancy centers can still provide you with free medical services and new information about your choices.
