First Response Pregnancy Test

First Response Pregnancy Test

Think you're pregnant? After the embryo implants in the uterine lining, the developing placenta starts producing a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The First Response pregnancy test, like others, determines if you are pregnant or not by detecting the presence of hCG in your urine. The amount of hCG in your body increases quickly, doubling every 36 to 48 hours as your pregnancy progresses, reaching its peak at 8-10 weeks. Most tests can confirm pregnancy with a concentration of hCG equal to the amount present in the urine of most pregnant women about 8 to 11 days after conception - roughly the first day of a missed period. First morning urine will have the strongest concentration of hCG.

We are touched by the love you have for your unborn child and your commitment to finding a nurturing and loving home for him or her. We have both yearned for a child for a long time and would love to welcome a child into our home. Call 888-782-2323.

First Response pregnancy test is one of the more sensitive, allowing you to test about three to five days before you would expect your period. Instructions are in both English and Spanish and include photographs. Conduct the test by urinating on the test wand (or, if you prefer, collect the urine in a cup, then immersing the wand in it for 5 seconds.) After the wand has been treated with urine as directed, cover the window with the clear protective overcap and lay it flat. Your results should be available within 3 minutes. The top of the wand turns pink to indicate the test was done correctly. If the test worked, the result will show as pink lines in the results window. One pink line is negative. Two pink lines indicate pregnancy.

The First Response pregnancy test received top marks in one review website, which described it as inexpensive, easy to use, and accurate. The manufacturer found the test to be 99% accurate when done as directed.

When taking a First Response pregnancy test (or any other), keep in mind that the average woman will have enough hCG in her urine on the first day of a missed period. In some pregnancies, the embryo takes a few days longer to implant. A pregnancy test taken that first day (or earlier) would come up negative because there is no hCG present to be detected. If your first test is negative but your period doesn't start within a few days, test again. You may still be pregnant.
