We first heard from our birthmother one month after being on ParentProfiles.com and have just met with her this weekend. We are having a baby boy in August!! We have read many success stories from couples who went on Parent Profiles and decided that is what we needed to do also. We have older children and after 10 years of trying to have another child, we decided to take some action on our more ...
Parenting can be both difficult and joyous. While there is a copious amount of help available for struggling parents--in all stages of life--some decide not to use government programs or other types of aid. Some parents prefer to parent without help. You just need to decide which is the best option for you and your child. It can be very difficult to parent without help, but it is possible.
The first thing with which to concern yourself is having a roof over your head. Depending on your situation, it may be difficult to find or afford the right housing for you and your family. For those with tighter budgets, consider looking into subsidized or low-income housing. You may be able to find great, safe housing options in your area--somewhere where your family can be happy and safe. If you do have the appropriate funds to find housing, start the house search right away. Once you find the right house for you and your family's situation, make it a home.
Food may be the next big hurdle to overcome. For some, having adequate food is a constant struggle--day in and day out. Buying groceries--especially healthy groceries--is expensive. If you're looking to parent without the help of food stamps or other discount programs, start by switching to off-brands. This may seem trivial, but the savings can add up quickly. A successful budget requires buying smart. Before you go shopping, research deals and bargains at your favorite stores. For some, it is more cost-effective to buy in bulk. Some find the best deals through cutting coupons. There are many methods to budgeting your grocery expenses. Find the way that works best for you.
Once you've figured out housing and food, the next thing to worry about is clothing. Just like everything else in life, buying clothing is expensive. It can be especially expensive for those who live in extreme climates--those needing winter jackets and winter boots. And just like grocery shopping, keep an eye out for great sales and bargains. Department stores offer great deals throughout holiday weekends. Also, shop at second-hand stores. They are a great resource for anyone in any monetary circumstance. Some may be embarrassed, but there is no need. It can be a fantastic way to get quality clothing at affordable prices. If you can sew or would like to begin sewing, make your own clothing. Not only will you get the perfect fit, but you can save quite a bit of money on your and your family's wardrobe.
These are the basic needs. Once you have those covered, make sure you take the time to enjoy life and your family. And money isn't required to enjoy life. Plan a day at the park with your family, for example. Be creative and have fun.
