Pregnancy magazines can be grouped into two main categories, paper and online, with some having a foot in both formats.
Fit Pregnancy is one of the pregnancy magazines that can be found on both your newsstand and your computer. The emphasis is on health and nutrition, with a strong focus on exercise during and after pregnancy. Fit Pregnancy goes beyond the nine months of pregnancy to include concerns of the postnatal period - breastfeeding, getting back in shape, adjusting to parenthood.
ePregnancy, also found in both paper and online form, calls itself the "new image of pregnancy." Like other pregnancy magazines, it covers the basics of nutrition and development, with a strong emphasis on fashion and style. The web site offers access to some of the articles from the paper issue, and some web-only features such as links to advertisers and message boards.
Pregnancy magazine tells you to "expect good things." That's especially true of you're interested in photos and profiles of pregnant celebrities, which Pregnancy seems to emphasize more than other pregnancy magazines. Articles cover a wide range, from first person stories of triumph over the odds to quizzes to discussions of topics of interest such as delivery methods and decorating the nursery. Pregnancy's website is not as extensive as that of some others, with only a few articles and links to advertisers, but it includes profiles of back issues and information on ordering them - something that could come in very handy if the topic you're researching was covered six months ago.
Babycenter.com is a very extensive website/ezine associated with Child magazine. Unlike other pregnancy magazines, Babycenter maintains a vast, searchable library of articles on the website. Articles are grouped by your baby's stage: preconception, pregnancy, baby, toddler, preschooler and big kid. Many articles are free. You can also subscribe to the site for a low monthly fee and access hundreds of additional features, including online pregnancy and birth videos and Consumer Reports reviews of baby-related equipment.
With a wide enough variety of pregnancy magazines to suit almost every budget and interest area, you're sure to find one that's just right for you.
