Jennifer's youngest brother got married at Christmastime. All his nieces wore matching dresses like Lucy's. Cole wore a coordinating suspender and tie outfit. They both loved the reception, especially the dancing.
This was a cold windy winter day that we decided to go on a train ride. We have been on a few different train rides, but have never actually used the train as a form of transportation for travel.
We took Lucy and Cole to their first professional baseball game, and they really enjoyed it. Perhaps it was the fireworks after the game or the yummy nachos. We have gone back a few times and always had a good time.
We went on a hike and found these giant puffs just waiting for someone to come along and blow on them. Lucy and Cole helped spread those seeds. We also saw a few snakes on the hike too, and touched some lizards sunning themselves.
Rex's mom made all her grandkids fleece jackets and matching hats one year. Lucy loves her jacket and wears it all the time. Cole likes his jacket too, but would rather wear sweatshirt than jacket.
We went to Disneyland with Jennifer's parents and her sister and kids. Her sister's husband was in Iraq at the time. We made some great Disneyland memories with the grandparents and cousins. We look forward to going back!
Lucy and Cole are both in school and this picture was taken in Lucy's classroom. The tent was a place for students to go and read quietly. Lucy liked the coziness of the tent. She often asks to set up the tunnel tent at our our house.
We went camping with Jennifer's family. To help Lucy with her long hair, Jennifer braided it all into a bunch of little braids all over her head.
Cole watched a movie about how jelly beans are made in school. We took a trip to the Jelly Belly factory to see how it really happens in person.
We love to go to the lake. This picture was taken while we were camping by the lake. It is always relaxing and fun to spend time by the water.
We went to Sea World for Halloween. It was so fun! They had tons of special Halloween things going on. Lucy and Cole even were able to wear their costumes into the park. Cole is a Storm Trooper and Lucy is a Spring Princess.
Lucy and Cole's classes did plays at Christmastime. Cole did Jan Brett stories and Lucy's class did "The Grinch." Lucy was Cindy Lou Who, so I did her hair special for the play.
We spent this Fourth of July with Jennifer's relatives. We set off a lot of little fireworks before the big fireworks display that night.
Jennifer's mom always makes her grandkids tie dye shirts for the Fourth of July. This year she made them for the adults too. We are on our swing set in our backyard.
We like to go to museums when we have the chance. This picture is outside an art museum. The museum had some interactive displays and was on the smaller side. That helped keep the kids engaged.
We went on a hike by a small lake. Cole carried a stick to fend off the wild animals we saw, which were mainly birds or unleashed dogs. They walked farther along the log until they were partway into the lake.
Lucy and Cole's aunt made all her nieces and nephews scarves and hats one year. They happily wore them the next time it snowed. It kept them warm as they built a snowman and went sledding.
We took a family trip to San Fransisco. In addition to seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, we went to an aquarium, spent time at the piers, and went to the Exploratorium - a giant science museum for kids.
When we went to San Francisco, it was the first time our kids had seen the ocean. Now they have seen it a few more times, and played in it when we went to San Diego.
We went camping and saw a bear. Before we saw the bear we made a Cole sandwich while we were sitting around the campfire.
This was taken at a dinosaur park/museum. There was an outdoor area where kids could dig for buried dinosaur bones.
This donkey is outside a museum near our house. I think we have taken almost all our family to this museum.
Lucy and Cole are excited about having a new baby brother or baby sister!
We started our family in 1998 at the LDS Oakland Temple. It was one of the best days of our lives. Both our families were there and we were all happy!
