We like to take "long arm" pictures - hold the camera as far away from your face as possible and click! (it helps that Rolf has long arms of course :)
We love Michigan and enjoy taking long walks up north or out on the dunes. Searching for Petosky stones by Lake Michigan is one of our favorite pastimes.
We enjoy being up north anytime of the year, even the middle of winter. This felt like a "Hagrid" bench from a Harry Potter movie because both of our legs were swinging!
Rolf really enjoys eating. We stayed in a cabin for the weekend and Christina was sleeping in, so Rolf started making eggs for breakfast all by himself! Both cups of tea are for him by the way, Christina drinks coffee :)

Rolf's family from Germany and England came for a visit. We spent time up north hanging out by the dunes - they loved it! The great lakes are beautiful, especially since they are fresh water. Somehow we always forget that even though we live her
Being British - Rolf loves hot tea with milk, baked beans on toast, marmite and fish & chips! His German side prefers sausage and cake. Christina has tried all of them and does not like marmite - ick!
Since we have great friends and family in Europe, we visit as often as we can. In winter, we take the time to go to the Alps to go snowblading or just walk in the mountains. It is gorgeous!
Rolf really enjoys history and culture. When we get to Europe in summer, we add extra time for good ol' sightseeing. We are really looking forward to sharing this part of our life with a child. There is so much world out there and it is truly amaz

We visited the famous Keukenhof Garden in Holland - it's so colorful and has a wonderful flowery aroma. We never knew there were so many kinds of tulips.
A trip to Rome for our 7th anniversary. Drop a penny in the Trevi Fountain and you are sure to return to Rome (we did that 8 years ago and here we are again!)
Our favorite vacation spot in the whole world is South Africa and it's just beautiful. We have seen so many animals interacting in the wild - it is like watching the discovery channel out the car window!
Christina is absolutely crazy about South Africa - the scenery, the wildlife, the culture and the people. She has taken more pictures there than anywhere else in the whole world.

Christina experienced the opportunity of a lifetime the last time we were in South Africa - she got to hand feed a 3 month old lion cub! She had a little scratch when we got back - but no one could believe it was from a real lion! Gulp!
Rolf likes trains, cars and travel! Here he is enjoying a trip across the southern coast of South Africa in a real steam train. He is even known to watch a few minutes of Thomas with friends when Christina isn't paying attention - ha!
Christina's family visited us in Germany and we spent many evenings out enjoying the local food. They loved the cobblestones, the castles, and all the different languages we heard.
One of Christina's favorite movies is a French film called Amelie - here Christina is in France living the script ;)

Christina loves to take pictures - friends have to take pictures of her taking pictures just to get a picture of her!
This is a pic from a walk in England along the "jurrasic coast." Christina really liked searching for fossils. However, it was cold and wet of course, it is England.
Christina loves animals - here she is checking out the Coati's on the side of the road in Costa Rica. She is known to hang out with the monkeys and baboons for a long time, too!
This is one of our favorite pictures from Costa Rica. Nature is truly huge and humbling. The volcano was pretty active, too!

Christina says we have to try something new every single vacation - so here we are just after zip lining in Costa Rica!
Here is close up from a friends Christmas party last year. We are wearing our British Christmas cracker hats!
Caught Rolf relaxing with Harry Potter 7 on the hammock by the lake.
Finally, here is Christina with one of her God children, Wolfgang. He loved chewing on her necklace while he was christened in Germany this past Christmas.
