This summer we visited the Evergreen State Fair. John Henry enjoyed his first pony ride on his trusty steed, Honey.

What is more magical for a child than a beautiful carousel? We all love this lovely ride at our local zoo where we are members and visit often.

We were asked this last Christmas to act as Joseph, Mary, and the Christ Child during a reading of the Christmas story. It was quite an honor and a tradition we hope to continue with our family (We could use an angel!)

John Henry has not perfected the art of social decorum or subtlety. But then isn't that part of the fun of having children around? You never know what they are going to come up with! We love it!

John Henry loves his Dada and Link is such a good Dada to him. He loves kids and they love him because he plays with them and listens to them.

Megan LOVES to knit! It is rare to see her sitting still without needles in her hands. Here she is just finishing up the second mitt in the hat and mitt set that she knit because it was so cold at the beach!

We love to go to the aquarium. John Henry loves it when one of us touches the star fish and other animals in the touching pools, but HE wasn't going to touch them. He's a funny little man.

Link loves to do silly things and any kids that are around love him for it. Here he is entertaining he younger cousins and niece and nephews.

Here we are on John Henry's first birthday! Not only was it a big day for our little dude, but also a big day for our family. We were able to officially start our adoption process for kiddo number two the day kiddo one was a year old.

We all like our naps in this family! Here John Henry and Lincoln are chillin' together after a satisfying nap!

The wonder and amazement of children when they encounter new experiences is magical. Here is John Henry playing in the snow for the first time and Megan loving sharing this delightful moment with him.

Maggie's in the back, she is a Wire-haired Fox terrier. Logan's down front, he is a Cairn terrier. Maggie is our nanny dog, always checking in on John Henry while he's sleeping. Logan love kids and plays happily with John Henry every day.

This was a big day for our family. Link had been in school for nine years. Megan had been along for the ride for six of those years. We also learned that day that the troublesome pregnancy we were dealing with would result in a baby boy.
