After 7 years of marriage we still value having fun in all things. We love being together and put family time first above other things.
Our daughter is the light of our life. We are so happy to be her Mommy and Daddy. She is so precious to us and we love her so much it takes our breath away.
As a stay-at-home Mom, Steph and Kayley enjoy extra-special time together. It has been such a joy watching her grow and learn. We really feel that it is important to have a parent home full time and we have made it a priority.
Being a doctor has kept James busy over the last couple of years, but he has always made family time a priority. He has specialized in Family Medicine and looks forward to starting his own practice in the future.
As a family we try to stay active and have a good time. We make a lot of road trips and visit a lot of places. We are always excited to try something new. We love to go out on our "family dates."
We are history buffs - if it has any historical value we want to see it. We just love to travel and see new things, so together we make an awesome pair. We have been to Alcatraz, Mt. Rushmore, D.C. and a lot more. We take Kayley whenever we can!
James likes to travel, watch movies, read, camp and spend time with family. He is the oldest of 4 siblings, a younger brother John, and 2 sisters, Susan & Mary. He has one nephew Elijah, (and soon, a niece!) born to John and his wife.
James' parents are Beverly and Jim. Kayley calls them Gram and Gram-daddy. They are a strong, stable presence in our lives. They enjoy gardening and always have something beautiful blooming.
Steph's parents, Steve & Rhonda, are fun and spontaneous. Kayley calls them Gramma & Papa. They love to travel and take us to Disney every year. Steph is the oldest and has a brother, Steven who is soon to be married.
Kayley is almost 3 years old. The time flies so fast and we blink and our precious baby is growing up. She loves other people, especially babies. She attends a cooperative preschool a couple times a week with Mommy.
As a couple we really know the value of spending time alone together. Our idea of a "date-night" isn't always traditional. We enjoy doing service projects together at the cannery or foodbank in addition to dinner and a movie.
Like every 3yr old, Kayley enjoys playing! Playdough, "tea-party", Little People, and sand table are her current favorites. She is an avid thumb-sucker and a serious Elmo fan.
We enjoy our family dates as well and recently attended the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus. We had tooo much fun. We try to do things as a family as often as possible.
Kayley has learned so much over the last year and we are grateful that we are able to provide all of these learning opportunities for her.
Getting ready for church on Sunday. We attend every week and we both have responsibilities that we take seriously. James holds a leadership position that allows him to help other families and Steph is a Sunday School Teacher.
Kayley is such a doll. She is well-mannered and says please and thank you. Tantrums are rare. We do not spank or hit...we use a system of time-out/rewards to keep Kayley happy and healthy.
Kayley's first trip to the dentist. NO cavities! Dental visits and well-baby checkups are a few of the necessary responsibilities of raising a healthy child. We take our daughters health very seriously and stay on top of her checkups.
By the fountain at the FDR Monument in Washington, D.C. We are thrilled to be able to introduce our daughter to all the amazing places that make up our world. We are teaching her to respect other people, cultures and places.
Kayley loves to ride the carousel. Who doesn't? Kids need to be kids. It makes our hearts swell to watch our daughter thow back her head and laugh.
We cannot believe how fulfilling it is to be parents. We recognize our Heavenly Fathers hand in all things and we are eternally grateful for our many blessings.
