Mike & Laura are hopeful adoptive parents from Colorado waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Congratulations!
We're Adopting a Boy.

Get to Know Us! Hello! Our names are Mike and Laura, and we have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters – Cami, Hayley, and Audrey. We met while at college and have been married since 1996. Having adopted twice now, we now have a deep love for and testimony of adoption and it’s special part of God’s plan to unite families; and yet we know this is not an easy decision for you by any means. We hope you know that we’re praying for you and we have faith that the Lord will direct you in this loving decision.

Mike is a gentle, easy-going guy who is quickly liked by all who meet him. He has never liked contention and strives to make others feel comfortable and happy. He is a very attentive and loving father; and has always been a wonderful provider. In the last few years, he has been working from home so we get to see him all the time which is so much fun!! The most common thing that I (Laura) hear from other people is how much they like Mike. At home, he helps cook, clean, and lets me take time for myself. I don’t know how I found him, but I’m sure holding on tight now that I’ve got him!!

Laura is a wonderful, friendly person with a very big heart. She’s short and blond with an infectious giggle that is often heard, as she loves to laugh. She enjoys organizing and coming up with remodeling ideas. Laura has always loved children and teaching. She continues to share this love by devoting her life to being a mother. Laura has a deep love of music, and she always keeps the house filled with it – with the radio, the piano, or her singing. I (Mike) think it’s wonderful how much Cami enjoys music even at a young age - she tries so hard to be like her Mom.
We Finally Start Our Family When we were first married, we decided not to postpone having children, yet the Lord had something else in mind. Over the first 5 years of our marriage, we learned to “wait patiently on the Lord”. Finally we were blessed to adopt Cami and had the privilege of meeting her birth mother. Although it was difficult for us to witness the sacrifice and heartache of her birth mother, it was also very touching and a tender experience for all of us present.

Cami is such a little angel but her sweet body was not born perfect. Cami was born with cerebral palsy and developmental delays. Because of these challenges, we never take anything for granted; we rejoice with each of her little victories. We could hardly contain our joy when she finally learned to walk when she was 3 1/2 years old. She shows us everyday that having a perfect body is not our purpose in life – it is to overcome trials, serve others, and learn to love as the Savior did. We’re grateful for her just the way she is.
Our ... almost twins Hayley was born in the summer of 2006. She has such a sweet temperament, ready smile, and watchful eyes. She is still such a delight to talk to, play with, tickle, and watch her run or do gymnastics. She’s full of energy and loves to be chased and tickled. She has a beautiful smile with adorable dimples. Although we didn’t meet her birth mother, we were able to talk on the phone a few times and exchange pictures. Having a child from a different race has been a wonderful experience. We know that she was meant to come to our family. We couldn’t be whole without her!

A few days after Hayley was born, Audrey was conceived. She has been our only experience with pregnancy and nursing. She and Hayley are the best of friends, being only 8 ½ months apart. Audrey is the leader when it comes to adventures (and mishaps!). She loves to make a mess, and has the cutest sense of humor already. We love to watch her dancing to music or playing hide and seek; and Hayley is never content unless she knows where Audrey is. The two are almost inseparable – and undeniably adorable! Cami adores her sisters and is very gentle with both of them. Although physically they can already do more than her, they like to play with her when she’s home from school.
A loving family Both of our extended families truly love our children. We are confident that new additions to our small family will be treasured and accepted as part of our larger family. We have come to know with certainty that families never happen by accident and we look forward to our next child.

We send you our love during this important yet difficult time of your life. We recognize the deep and loving sacrifice you are making. We will forever be grateful for your bravery. Thanks to people like you - we have a family. For all eternity . . . we thank you and love you.
