Todd & Rebecca are hopeful adoptive parents from Oregon waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Adoption...It Really Is About Love!
Hi! We’re Todd & Rebecca, and we are excited about getting to know you! One of the tremendous blessings that is part of adoption is the bond we have developed with the birth families of our children – the bond we hope to develop with you, too.
We have a deep and abiding love in our hearts for our children’s birth parents. We are eternally grateful to them for the blessing they have given us. We are teaching our children to love and respect their birth parents, and we make sure they understand the great love, strength and courage it took for their birth parents to make the decision they did. If you select us as parents for your child, please be confident that he or she will grow up knowing how much you love them, and also knowing how much we love you.
We have three children, but we also know that our family is not complete – even our children feel it – they want more brothers and sisters. We hope you are the person that will make the choice that will bless our family for generations and for eternity.
From the beginning of our marriage we tried, unsuccessfully, to have children. We have always wanted to have a large family, so we were overjoyed when we were able to adopt our oldest son, Brandt. He came into our lives when he was just a day old, and immediately became a part of our hearts. About two years later, we were able to adopt our second son, Trent. A short time later, Trent's birth mother became pregnant a second time, and we were honored that she trusted us enough to also be the parents of her second child – our beautiful daughter, Suzanna.
Family Fun and Traditions
We like to play in the backyard, take walks, and bicycle around the neighborhood. We also take regular excursions to the zoo, park, and science center. The children love playing together and we have a lot of fun. We also have a lot of family in the area, so we can frequently spend time with grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins. One of the most enjoyable gathering spots is the family property next to a stream in the mountains. There we have fun riding the tractor, making “s’mores” over the fire, or just skipping rocks across the water.
Teaching our children the importance of family is a priority for us. We have a family song written by Todd which the children love to sing. It is our "family creed" which helps our children understand our values. For example, that we are a family which is "honest all the time," and that we "do the best that we can." We want them to learn to give and think of others at an early age. So, for birthdays and Christmas each child gets a one on one shopping trip with Mom or Dad to buy presents for the rest of the family. They pick out anything they want for each family member... at the Dollar Store. :) We all love it! We believe family traditions are important. For example, each year we pick our Halloween pumpkin from a local pumpkin patch (we like to get HUGE ones), kite flying at the beach is a springtime favorite, and we go berry picking at our favorite local farm in the summer. For Christmas, we like to cut down our own tree. We spend an entire day at Christmas Tree farms looking for just the right tree (yes - a HUGE one). Day-to-day traditions are also important, like waving goodbye from the doorstep each morning when Todd goes to work, family meals together, and bedtime stories.
Whenever possible, we also love to travel. It doesn’t matter if we travel near or far, it is just fun to explore and see new things.
Our Children...They're Great!
Brandt is a happy, fun-loving, tenderhearted boy with a wonderful sense of humor. He is 10 years old and is a GREAT big brother. He makes friends easily, enjoys horseback riding, playing the piano, cub scouts, and soccer! He also loves to read and thoroughly enjoys anything to do with science. Of course, we love the fact that he enjoys giving us hugs. (we are a “huggy-squeezy” kind of family).
Trent is 8 years old, and simply stated, has a kind heart and a strong will. He has an infectious smile, and lots of love for his brother and sister. He loves being outdoors, and any playground with a jungle gym is like a magnet to him. He enjoys gymnastics, horseback riding, swimming, soccer, basketball, and bicycling!
Suzanna is 5 years old. She is unbelievably adorable! She lights up any room she is in! She is loving and affectionate, and now that she has learned her letters and numbers, likes to write cute notes and then read them to us. She is very social, loves her friends from Kindergarten. She loves music, singing and dancing, and gymnastics. She is a natural at horseback riding and loves her horse Pony Girl.
About Todd & Rebecca
The two of us came together like opposites that attract, and we are a wonderful balance for each other. We are very much in love with each other, and have a deep love for our children. We work hard to be good parents, learning from reliable sources where ever we can. We are deeply religious, and we know that our religious beliefs serve to strengthen our family - they provide the eternal perspective that is so important to families and individuals. We trust in God to guide us in this process, and likewise trust that He will guide and bless you in your decision.
About Todd:
I come from a family of 8 children, and am the second to youngest. My family is loving, kind, thoughtful (they like to be supportive in quiet, unobtrusive ways), and a lot of fun.
We can sit around the dinner table telling stories and laugh for hours.
I served a 2-year LDS church mission in Portugal, earned an engineering degree and have had the opportunity to travel throughout much of Europe and the Orient. I am outgoing and love to make people laugh, (for example, I can stand on my head and sing "Happy Birthday" backwards) and I share Rebecca’s love for food (Rebecca loves the main courses, I love the desserts!).
For me, family always comes first. I have always made sure that my work is flexible enough to allow me to spend plenty of time at home. I believe quality time together only comes if there is a large quantity of time together. I enjoy wrestling with the children (my main source of exercise), singing, playing the piano, and cycling. Speaking of exercise, I recently completed my first triathlon!
About Rebecca:
I am the third of four children. I grew up in a loving home, where friends were always welcome and always felt at home. I served an 18 month mission in Puerto Rico for our church, where I became fluent in Spanish. Following that, I earned a degree from BYU, taught modeling, and was a successful consultant with Mary Kay cosmetics. My father was in the military so I grew up in various places, including California, Nevada, Virginia, and Arizona, but my favorite place was Japan. Because of the frequent moves, I learned to make friends easily. More importantly, I learned the importance of family. My parents had a loving relationship, which made all of us happy and secure, no matter where we lived. I work hard to make sure that I provide that same feeling of love and security for my children.
I love being a mom and all the joys and responsibilities that comes with it. At the top of my list is being an active part of their learning and development, both in school and at home. I enjoy volunteering at the school, helping with homework, and teaching them at home, not to mention driving to practices, cub scouts, friends houses, and having lots of fun adventures together!
I tend to be very organized and like doing the little things that make a house a home. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, and so it is fun keeping up on clothing styles and interior design. I loved creating the Winnie-the-Pooh nursery and the boys' “John Deere Tractor” room in our home. As for sports, I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball, and any activity that involves being in or near the water.
We welcome your questions and look forward to getting to know you better!
Sincerely,
Todd & Rebecca
