John & Michelle are hopeful adoptive parents from New Jersey waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthparent... We are overwhelmed writing this letter. What can we say to you? We are so very grateful for your consideration. The decisions that you are making are tremendous. We have a great deal of respect for your strength and courage.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about us. It is so hard to express our personality in a letter or brief profile. If only you could get to know us, we think you would see what a great family we are.

We have been married for 16 years. We are not a perfect family, but we love each other more than words can express. John is a scientific systems analyst for a major company. Michelle is a stay-at-home mom.

We waited to be chosen as parents for a long time. During that time we had the opportunity to prepare for parenthood. We’ve had a wonderful experience with adoption. We were lucky enough to work with an incredible birth mother when we adopted our son, Scott. We are so blessed to have him in our lives.

Our extended family is thrilled at the prospects of another baby in our family. We love to spend time with our parents and siblings.

Please view our “Interests and Hobbies” to learn more about us. Feel free to use the “Contact Us” tab to ask us any questions or you can email us. Send us a message We would be thrilled to hear from you and would love to get to know you.

We are willing to discuss an open relationship with you. We are certain that together we can identify a situation that will be comfortable for all of us, if you choose us as adoptive parents for your child.

We are thinking of you as you make this loving decision. You will know when you find the right parents for your baby. Whether you choose us or another couple, we applaud your selfless choice of adoption.

Sincerely,

John, Michelle and Scott

About Us... We enjoy just being together. Some things we like are visiting family, trips to new places, trying new restaurants, playing computer games, and game nights with our friends. One of our most favorite things to do is watching movies on the big screen TV and snuggling with our dog, Duncan.

We also like to work together to complete projects around the house. I often pick on John that he can’t do a project without me. He will call from the other room...”Hey, can you give me a hand with this?” Scott is already trying to help out with any and everything he can try to do.

We look forward to family adventures including trips to the zoo, the park, strawberry picking, gardening, museums, macaroni art, travel...We can’t list them all. There are tons of activities that we can’t wait to share.

About John:

People often think John is a big tough guy. In reality he is really soft-hearted. I think he is the best man I’ve ever known. Through all of my infertility problems, he has been kind and supportive. He would do anything for me. He puts my happiness above everything else in the world. He is a fierce protector of the people he loves.

John has a college degree in Chemistry, but currently works with computers for a major pharmaceutical company. He is a computer wiz at work and at home. He gets phone calls from family, friends, and sometimes people we don’t even know for help with computer issues.

He also has a garage full of tools. He is a gadget guy. He likes to do woodworking and has made the cutest ape pull toy that shrugs its shoulders as you pull it. He also loves classic cars.

Music is important to him. He has a wide collection of songs from almost every genre, but probably would say that rock is his favorite.

About Michelle:

Michelle has a college degree in Education. She was trained to teach both English and Spanish. Currently, she is a stay-at-home Mom.

She loves to scrapbook. Choosing photos for you to look at has been especially difficult for her. She thinks she doesn't look good in photos. Please don’t hold that against her.

She loves to take Scott on walks through our neighborhood. They visit the nearby playground so Scott can play. It is a residential area with lots of young families. She also likes to ride her bike. We like to play basketball at the school playground one block from our house.

She loves the Lego games for the WII. Right now, the Batman Lego game is her favorite. She also plays Civilization on the Nintendo DS.

She enjoys music. She plays the piano....not exceptionally, but does ok. She listens to music often. All types. Her favorite is country. (Not old country...the new stuff. Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw)

About Scott: Scott is almost 2 years old. He is a bright, curious child. He has a great sense of humor and is so fun to be around. He is a huge flirt. His days are filled with playing, climbing on Mommy and Daddy and hugging the dog.

About Duncan: Duncan is a full-breed cocker spaniel. He is about 9 years old. He loves to make new friends. He is super friendly. All of our friends’ kids love to visit Duncan. He is Scott's best friend.
Family Background We met through mutual friends in college. Strangely enough, their names were also John and Michelle. We were married shortly after graduation. We spend a great deal of time together. Both John’s and Michelle’s families are excited to welcome another beautiful baby into the family.

John - John is an only child. His parents divorced when he was young. He wants to make certain that he has the best relationship with our children. Father/Son or Father/Daughter activities will be high on his lists of priorities. He will be there. He wants to make certain that he provides a healthy, safe environment for children. He wants them to know that they are loved, no matter what.

John’s mother and step-father are great fun and are excited to be grandparents. They spoil Scott and will definitely spoil any other grandchildren as well. They are thrilled that we are seeking to grow our family through adoption. John also has lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins in his extended family all waiting to welcome a new member(s).

Michelle - Michelle is the oldest of three daughters. Her Mom was a stay-home mom until Michelle went to high school. Michelle remembers hanging out with her, learning from her, coming home from school to freshly baked bread and a big hug and wants to be able to do these things, too.

One of our friends does the coolest thing with her children. Each day they have at least one “Special-tivity.” This is a special activity they do together. It might be finger painting, going to story time at the library, a play date with friends, the zoo, making a special craft, going to the shore, making a tasty treat, experiencing a new culture, or many other things. We do this with Scott. It will be even more fun as our family grows.

Michelle's family is very supportive of our decision to adopt. Her sister and her husband have a little boy. Her parents love being grandparents. They are as anxious as we are to share all the love, excitement, and traditions that our family has to offer. Her younger sister is not married. She loves being an “auntie.”

We get together often. Especially for holidays and other special family occasions. We have a bunch of family traditions that we can’t wait to pass along. Our Christmas stockings have always been special to us. We always hang our stockings on the mantle for Santa. He would surprise us with something cool inside on Christmas morning. We would come downstairs in our new pajamas to check out our gifts, but couldn’t touch until everyone was awake. Birthday celebrations are always fun. The birthday boy/girl gets to choose the menu. Michelle was always excited to have German chocolate cake with coconut/pecan frosting. We also play a game where we name an object or phrase and try to find a song that goes with it. We are really good at it. Know any songs with the word “afghan” in it? We’re stumped with that word.
Home and Community... Our home has three bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, TV room/den, attached 2 car garage and 1 1/2 baths. We have a nice wood deck off the back of the house where we barbeque. The fenced-in backyard is very large and has plenty of room for a garden, swing set, and tree house with room for running and playing. Our neighbors are wonderful.

We live in a residential area one block from a nationally recognized “blue ribbon” elementary school. The area is very culturally diverse. We are also close to many museums, cultural activities, zoos, historical sites, amusement parks, and other great activities. Our town has many infant and youth activities including, swim classes and art/craft classes. The local library encourages reading and learning with many programs including various story times and other special activities. The Church we attend is a wonderful congregation. We are close and care deeply for each other. There is a weekly playgroup for the children. Our faith is important to us and we look forward to sharing it.
