Robert & Karin are hopeful adoptive parents from New York waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birth Mother, We are Karin and Robert and we thank you so much for looking at our profile and trying to get a better understanding of who we are. We want to extend to you our warmest good wishes and our prayers at such an overwhelming time in your life. Your selflessness at this time amazes us and, whether you choose us or not, we want to thank you for getting to know us. We have so much respect for the courageous decision you have made. We truly admire you and we know that all the hopes and dreams you have for your child will come true. We want you to know that, with love and caring in our hearts, we will see to it that your baby will be brought up surrounded by loving, caring, respectful people who will do anything in their power to make sure the world greets your baby with a smile every day. We have always said that, however we are blessed with a baby, it will be our gift from God. Spending our lives loving, nurturing, caring and guiding our child in this world is our gift back.

About Robert: Robert is my soul mate and best friend. It sounds amazing but I fall more in love with him each day. Rob has an amazing sense of humor. He always tries to make everyone laugh and feel comfortable. He is caring, gentle, kind and loving. He is thoughtful and always looking to help others. In fact, after our adoption is complete, he is joining the volunteer fire department in our town. Robert has a huge heart. He gets along with everyone and always sees the good in people. As strong as he is, it is his caring and sensitivity that really sets him apart and why I love him so much. He is a devoted husband and can’t wait to become a father.

Robert works on a maintenance crew for an excellent school district. He also practices and teaches karate. Although he enjoys sports and the outdoors, Robert really shines as a teacher at the karate school where he studies. Robert is a second degree black belt in Kempo Karate. He started studying soon after we were married, and after 2 years, started assisting in teaching the classes. He looks after his students like they are his own as is evidenced by the huge following he has. Parents make it a point to bring their children to class when he teaches. He takes so much pride in watching them grow, but really, really wants his own child to teach and watch over. For all of the lives he has touched, nothing would mean more to him that to teach and guide our own child through life. Teaching so many children does make great practice! He is as humble as he is steadfast. This is one of the many reasons I know he will be such a great Dad.
About Karin: Let me start by saying that Karin is my everything. I knew the night we met that we would be spending the rest of our lives together. I knew that she was the person I would marry and cherish for the rest of my life. She is my best friend, my partner and soul mate. Karin touches the lives of everyone she meets. She loves to take care of people and make them happy. Everything she does is with love in her heart and a smile on her face. Karin is college educated and works for a large corporation in our area. She is also a licensed real estate agent. Once our adoption is final, Karin plans on just working as a real estate agent because the hours are more flexible and she can spend lots of time raising our baby. Karin loves to cook and entertain. Our table is always set with flowers from our garden and homemade cooking from Karin’s kitchen. Her stuffed shells, banana bread and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are famous in our neighborhood. We make Christmas cookie bags for all our family, friends and neighbors. She even makes them for my teachers and students where I study and for the men I work with. Karin is an amazing wife and homemaker. She is very thoughtful, responsible, fun and just loves making things nice. Karin also loves gardening and photography. Karin has been waiting her whole life to become a Mom!

I know that the child we are blessed with will learn every day another reason why Karin is the kindest, sweetest, most caring person that you can ever come to know. Karin has so much love to share with a child. She is an amazing wife, daughter, aunt, godmother and friend. It is as if the whole world is her garden because everything and everyone she comes in contact with grows more beautiful. It is amazing the effect she has on the people she meets. She does all of this with so much grace and ease. She is he most amazing person I know.

About us: We just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and we are so much in love! We met almost 12 years ago through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since. We quickly realized how much we had in common even though we grew up differently. We both have the same beliefs, values and respect for others. We both know how important family and friends are in our lives. Sadly, Robert’s father passed away a little over a year ago so he won’t be here to share in our joy when we adopt a baby. We know in our hearts that he will be watching over all of us. Karin’s parents and Rob’s mother are all anxiously waiting to become grandparents – all of them for the first time!! Our entire family, as well as our many friends, are extremely supportive and excited to welcome a baby into our lives.

Robert and I love spending time together. We enjoy going to the movies, dinner and shopping. We enjoy having family and friends over or going to visit them. We also love just staying home and reading. We love the holidays, especially Christmas. We look forward to the day when we can see our child wake up on Christmas morning and run to the tree and open lots of presents!

We love to travel and have been to many states, both on the east and west coasts. We have even hiked in Hawaii where we spent our honeymoon. Out west we have been to the Grand Canyon where Karin took many pretty pictures. We had a lot of fun going from Oregon to California. We went to the Redwood Forest, Yosemite National Park and many beautiful places in between, finally ending up in San Francisco. Back east we have taken many trips to Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont. Our most memorable trip was when we went to Italy. We spent 10 days in Rome which was amazing. We saw so many beautiful museums and historical sites. We even spent a day in Vatican City. We hope to one day be able to travel with our child and see the world through their eyes.

We live in a suburb of New York. Our neighborhood is in a beautiful wooded area, in a close knit community where neighbors become like family. We love it here – it’s very family oriented. There are children on every block. Our neighbor’s children are constantly at our house. We built a new home almost 3 years ago. It is a 4 bedroom colonial with a big yard that is fully fenced so children can play safely. Our school district is one of the best and includes many activities for children. We are on a quiet block with many parks, beaches and farms nearby. We love to go apple picking and pumpkin picking in the Fall! We are also a train ride away from New York City where you will find the greatest museums, Broadway shows and a diverse mix of culture. There is nothing like seeing the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center during the holiday season.

Nothing would make us happier than to become parents. Both Karin and I try very hard to be positive role models to the young people in our lives, and there are many. Whether it is our nieces and nephews, our friend’s children, the kids on our block or the kids Robert teaches, we look after them all as if they were our own. With this being said, a child in our lives would make it all truly magical.

The karate school where Robert trains and teaches is as much a family center as it is a place to learn karate. We look out for each other and each other’s families. Whether being there to give support at a tournament or testing with students I have trained since they walked through the door, the camaraderie we share is amazing. There is a yearly family picnic in one of our state parks and everyone that trains and teaches brings their entire families. It is always a lot of fun for everyone.

We have both always wanted a big family but we haven’t been fortunate enough. We are so grateful that Gladney is there to help us with the miracle of adoption. We will always tell your child how special you are and the sacrifice you made. We know the importance of the decision that you are making and it is an amazingly courageous and selfless one. Please know that we will raise your child in a loving home and give him or her all the security, hope, dreams, imagination, education, faith and unconditional love that every child deserves as well as plenty of hugs and kisses!

We know that we will be amazing parents and we hope that we are fortunate enough to be chosen by you. We wish you peace, love and happiness. Thank you again for getting to know us.
