Dan & Ellen are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother, We are thrilled and honored that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. We applaud your courage and strength in making this difficult decision and want to assure you that your baby will experience all the love, laughter and joy that come with a large family. We have been blessed with three children and both of us come from large families. Our children are the light of our life but we feel we have a special place in our hearts for another baby to join our family and enrich our lives.
About Us, We met in college, started dating and have been together ever since! We are each others best friend and can always make the other laugh. After graduation, Dan began his law enforcement career and Ellen began her job in advertising. In 1993 we got married and built our house.
We began our family in 1999 with the birth of our son, Rory. Ellen quit her job to be Rory's full-time mom. He is now 7 years old and is a tall, curious, hard-working boy. His favorite activity is Cub Scouts. He is very proud of his accomplishments and his uniform. Rory has developed an interest in world history and is enjoying 2nd grade.

In 2001, our daughter Lily was born. She is 5 years old and is in Kindergarten. Lily is a very outgoing girl who makes friends wherever she goes. She is very bright and artistic. She enjoys dressing up and has a particular soft spot for younger children and babies. She will always stop what she is doing to get a smile out of a baby or toddler passing by.

Our youngest son is Henry. He is 3 years old and is a very busy little boy. He is both friendly and fearless knowing that we are always watching out for him. He loves to dress up like a knight and wave his plastic sword around. He is in preschool now and enjoys riding the bus each day.

Dan is a great Dad. He enjoys playing with the kids, working in the yard, visiting with neighbors and coaching Rory's Little League Baseball team.
Our Home We live in a friendly, family oriented community filled with children, dog walkers and bicyclists. The kids walk to the new elementary school, two blocks away. There is a large network of neighborhood walking paths, parks, wetlands and a lake to fish in. We have a nice, large backyard that backs up to the huge field surrounding the lake. The kids love to explore, chase butterflies and catch lightning bugs in the field. We take them down to the lake to fish & squish in the mud. In the spring and fall Canada geese and ducks soar right over our heads as they fly to & from the lake each night.

The last two members of our immediate family are Rusty, our dog, and Ozzy, our bird. Dan bought Ozzy from a pet shop when he was in high school and has had him ever since. Ozzy stays in his cage by the window and whistles and clucks to the kids. Rusty is a mutt that we rescued from the dog catcher when we were out of town visiting family. He was a friendly dog who charmed his way into our lives and we could not imagine returning home without him. Dan loves to get up early and take Rusty on long walks

Family is very important to us. We decided that Ellen would be a stay-at-home mother to give our children the best possible start. She has greatly enjoyed her time caring for them and nurturing their individual interests. As a family we have attended many children's plays, visited many museums as well as attractions like the zoo, Santa breakfasts, Disney World, movies, participating in parades and lots of family parties. Every Sunday we attend church and the children attend weekly religious education classes.

Thank you, We hope our profile gives you a good understanding of us as a couple, as parents and as a family. We would be happy to meet with you and get to know each other better, but we will respect your wishes if you would rather not.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile and considering our family for your baby. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your baby.

Warmly,

Dan and Ellen
