If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Welcome
Our names are Jill, Andrew and Zach and we would like to thank you for taking the time to look over our profile. We hope that it will give you a window into our world so that you can begin to see if your hopes for your baby match our dreams of growing our family.
We cannot fully appreciate the challenge of your position, but when we adopted Zach we came to understand the incredible courage and love that goes into your decision when choosing an adoptive family. We wish you strength and wisdom as you seek the best possible result for you and your baby.
We will always be open and honest with a child about his/her adoption and he/she will grow up knowing of the unquestionable love that guided your decision. We know that there can never be too many people in your life who love you, and a birthmother can be an important part of that circle, as Zach’s birthmother is. We will always be connected by the shared desire to provide a child with a safe, loving and forever home. We once again look forward to expanding our immediate and extended family through adoption, and to developing a positive and healthy relationship with you.

Our Home and Family Life
We have been married for eight years and adoptive parents for two. We are excited to open our lives to another child. This is not a decision we enter into lightly; we know that we have the time, energy, love, stability and supportive network of family and friends to do so.
We want to give our children everything that we were blessed with growing up and more, including the confidence and faith to achieve their personal hopes and dreams. We have so much to share. We are blessed with a comfortable home in a small safe community with lots of other children, good schools, and parks. We have a backyard with a tree house, tire swing and hammock. A spacious playroom is perfect for rainy or cold days—though no one in this house seems to mind bundling up and heading out to explore whatever the weather brings! Our sweet, good-natured dog, Olive is never far away and is a true friend to all of us.
We love the water. Both of us were swimmers in high school and we are enjoying helping Zach to become comfortable in the water. We have a family vacation house on a lake where we love to fish and canoe. In fact, Andrew’s job is to advocate on behalf of clean water. In addition to our love of the water, we also enjoy camping and traveling to other countries, which we hope to share with our children. Jill is fluent in Spanish and we both take pleasure in learning about other cultures. Another passion of ours is arts and crafts. Jill loves to draw, paint, and sew, while Andrew enjoys working with wood and has even built some of the furniture in our house!
Schooling was a positive experience in both of our lives. Each of our parents played an active role in our own educations and we will do the same with our kids. We appreciate what a formal education can do for a person and will set aside money for this purpose. At the same time, we know how important it is to support a child in identifying his or her own interests. We will provide many rich and fun learning experiences to allow a child’s curiosity and creativity to flourish. Of course we look forward to learning from our child as well!
About Us
Andrew on Jill...
I have had the good fortune of knowing many compassionate and considerate people, but none quite like Jill. She is always thinking of others, from the smallest details like gift giving or sending cards, to her devotion to her first grade students. Jill is a wonderful listener and provides me with honest and thoughtful advice. In her daily work with young children, Jill shows great warmth while at the same time, bringing out the best in each of her students. It is beautiful to watch Zach benefiting from these same qualities.
Never afraid to try new things or take on new challenges, Jill is also one of the most courageous people I have ever met. Her tremendous sense of curiosity makes life with Jill a regular adventure and lots of fun. Jill’s creativity is especially strong when it comes to Zach. She is constantly coming up with new activities so that he can explore and find out more about things that interest and excite him. Jill is equally content hiking a wooded trail with our dog Olive or browsing an art museum. Whatever the activity, she has fun with it and will open a world of enjoyment and learning to another child. Her warmth and love will be an incredible, lasting gift.
Jill on Andrew...
The word most often used to describe Andrew is “real.” He is deeply committed to the people and values that shape his life. He is honest and compassionate, and willing to stand up for what is right. At the same time, he is light-hearted and easy going. He appreciates simple pleasures and is never more at home than when he is outdoors, where he marvels at every aspect of nature. He has passed this on to Zach, who even when playing in full force, will stop suddenly to admire a bird!
At work Andrew was voted the person “most likely to win at Survivor.” It’s true. He’s resourceful and smart, and very levelheaded in tough situations. His steady and loving presence can be felt throughout our household, where he involves himself in every aspect of Zach’s care, makes us laugh with his boundless energy and goofiness, and works hard to provide for his family in every way possible. Family comes first for Andrew, and he is excited about the prospect of ours expanding through the gift of adoption.
Zach...
Zach is vibrant, goofy, curious and loving. He is a centered little boy who enjoys the routines of his days but easily embraces new people, places and experiences. Zach loves to play outside; whether he’s digging, climbing, swinging, throwing sticks for the dog, or walking around town watching trucks, it’s all a happy adventure for him. Zach has grown up in the company of many children, from family and friends to the children in his part time childcare. Zach is very good with younger children, as if he somehow knows that his role as the older kid means that he has to practice an extra degree of patience. He regularly shares his toys, his mom’s lap and his snack with his younger friends. We see that Zach has a good foundation for being a kind and loving older brother.
Thank You
We both believe it is a truly amazing gift to become a parent through another's loving decision for their child. We intend to share our adoption experience openly and honestly with your child from the very beginning. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us.
