Justin & Rachel are hopeful adoptive parents from Utah waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birth Parents
In March of 2005 we got a phone call that we had been waiting five years to get. Our case worker called us to let us know that Daniel, our adopted son, was born and we could come to the hospital to visit Danny and his birthparents for the first time. We had been working on the adoption process for several years with several ups and downs. We had had an earlier placement fall through and we know that life is full of joy and sorrow; that makes life a rich experience. We can only imagine how difficult a decision you are making and hope that you are getting all of the support you need. We are so honored that you would consider placing your precious child in our family. They will always know how much you love them and how they are such a special gift from God. Thank you for reading our letter, we hope that you enjoy getting to know us a little better.
About Us
Both of us are the oldest of five children. Rachel grew up in Chicago and Justin grew up in Cincinnati. We met at E.F.Y. (a church retreat) when we were teenagers. Rachel knew no one so she prayed to find a friend and the next day Justin walked right up to her and said, “Hi, my name is Justin.” That night we met up at the dance and had a wonderful time. The magic still hasn’t ended! We married in 1997 and just celebrated our 10 year anniversary.
Justin is currently in graduate school at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, UT getting his Master’s Degree in Business. He is enjoying the opportunity to learn many new things after working for the past seven years. The classes are challenging and he enjoys being so close to home so that he can come home during the day to spend time with Rachel and Danny. After he graduates he wants to work as an organizational consultant for a while and eventually plans to get his PhD in Psychology. He then would like to teach at a university and make an impact in other lives, share knowledge, and continue to learn.
Currently Rachel is going to Columbia College working towards her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Once the children are grown she would like to go back to school and get her Master’s degree in Counseling. Then, she would like to become a Marriage Counselor and Relationship Coach. Rachel is a stay at home mom. Daniel keeps her very busy and she enjoys teaching him new things. Recently he discovered play dough and snow. There is never a dull moment in our home.
We adopted Daniel in 2005. Daniel (A.K.A. little man) was born in Maryland. His birth parents found us through the Internet. We emailed back and forth and got to know each other. The day she was induced we flew out to Maryland. We were able to hold Daniel on the day he was born. Daniel will always know how much his birth parents love him and why he is in our family.
Our Hobbies and Interests
We love to travel. When we were first married we went on a cruise to Mexico with Rachel’s family. We loved it so much that the two of us decided to go on a cruise to Alaska. We have been to Sedona, Arizona for Christmas and recently we traveled to Hawaii with Rachel’s family. That is where Daniel learned to walk. This past Christmas we visited both of our families in Chicago and Louisville and for our 10th Anniversary we went to Las Vegas. This summer we went with Justin’s family back to the beach house in North Carolina and then spent the rest of our summer in Florida because Justin interned at NASA.
When she’s not busy chasing after Daniel, Rachel enjoys scrapbooking. Daniel already has 3 photo albums and he's only two. She loves to play the piano and watch musicals and Sci-Fi movies. She also loves to play board games, especially Settlers of Catan.
Justin is very good at computers. It seems like he can fix any computer problem that Rachel encounters and Daniel is following in his footsteps. He also writes poetry, collects coins and loves to swim.
Daniel loves going outside with Mom and Dad, playing at the park or with the leaves, and kicking his soccer ball. He also enjoys coloring and popping bubbles.
Our Feelings About Each Other...
Rachel: Justin is the love of my life. He is my best friend and soul mate. Being around him makes me feel complete. The love we have for one another is so strong. I know that I can get through any adversity as long as I have Justin at my side. He is so kind and loving and such a good husband and father. I love the way he plays with Daniel. When Justin walks in the door Daniel runs over to him, grabs onto his leg, and is so excited to see him.
Justin: Rachel is a wonderful wife and mother. She is kind and is always serving others. I truly appreciate all the effort Rachel puts into our family to make it better. I have been truly blessed to have a sweetheart who is beautiful, kind, and thoughtful. Rachel is a beautiful singer and makes sure that beautiful music is part of our home. She is a great support and brings lots of joy and laughter into our home and into my life.
Daniel is our little angel. He has such a good sense of humor and is constantly making us laugh. His favorite things to do are read books and play on the computer. He will go in his room and sometimes read/look at books for ten minutes at a time. His favorite kind of book is a lift the flap book. His favorite computer game is "the duck", Jump Start Preschool. Daniel talks nonstop. He can count to 30, knows his letters, and Rachel is teaching him how to read.
