Kirk & Julie are hopeful adoptive parents from South Carolina waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Congratulations!
We're Adopting a Girl.

Our Letter to You... Hello!! We wanted to tell you first that we are open to either gender, any race, special needs and a newborn up through 4 years old! Send us a message

Thanks so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about our family. We greatly admire your courage and strength for deciding to place your child for adoption.

We have been blessed with two children through adoption and two sons who are biological. There truly is no difference between them in our hearts. Each of our children fill our days with love and laughter and their own unique talents and wonder.

You may wonder why we would like another child when we have our fabulous four. There is still someone missing around here. We all feel it. Julie's days are now empty with the kids at school and I truly miss having a little one at home with me. We all have so much love and time to give to another child. There isn't a day that goes by without us wishing for our little one to arrive. We keep holding off on going to Disney World again until our child is home and can share in the fun and magic with all of us!

We have been married for a little over 13 years and known each other for over 15 years. We went on a blind date and liked one another from the first moment we met. We truly are best friends and spend a great deal of time together. We are both close to our extended families and feel truly blessed to have such great people in our lives.

We are just normal parents who do our very best to raise kind and loving children. Our greatest goal is that we raise kids who are kind to others and proud of who they are....no matter what they decide to do in their lives.

Kirk works out of our home as an Investor. His schedule allows him to help with homework and also take the children to and from school on occasion. It’s wonderful as he is always around if one of the boys wants to show off a good test score or how well they can kick the soccer ball. He's also wonderful about assembling toys and dollhouses and the other night sat here and helped our daughter Alea create a homemade doll which she treasures. Kirk’s hobbies include working on old cars and tractors, farming, and reading about historical events. He is very tall (6’4) but is one of the most gentle people that Julie has ever known. He adores children and is very patient and nurturing. Kirk has a degree in Journalism and is also back in school seeking a Masters in Special Education. He will have completed his degree in Spring of 2010.

Julie is a Stay-At-Home Mom and loves being home with the children. Julie’s hobbies include riding dirt bikes, scrapbooking and cooking. Julie loves to watch cooking shows and tries to recreate some of the dishes. Sometimes this works, sometimes we wind up with take-out! :) Julie also loves reading and music. Julie has a degree in Criminology, Human Resource Management and also Elementary Education. Both Kirk and Julie have been active in Big Brothers/Big Sisters and still keep in touch with our matches....even though they are now grown and in their twenties.

Our children are Thomas (11), Henry (8), Alea (6) and Rory (5). They are very kind kids who love reading, sports, and animals. They often are found outside looking for frogs or playing tag. Alea is a bit of a tomboy although she does have a girly side as well. We love having a big family and the kids love always having a playmate at their side!

Together as a family, we love to take long walks and go on picnics. We also have a dune buggy and ATV that we love to drive back through our woods to a noisy creek. We love old car shows and attend many local festivals and other events. Holidays are huge around our house! We decorate for every holiday…from Valentine’s Day to Christmas. We always eat supper together as a family and talk about our daily activities. Each night, Kirk and Julie spend time reading to the children, saying prayers, and tucking them into their beds.

We live in a wonderful neighborhood filled with families of all ages. Our home is a large restored 100 year old farmhouse and sits on about 9 acres of land. There is plenty of room to run and play. We also have a fenced swimming pool out back along with a giant swing set, playground and playhouse.

Our two dogs are Cassie and Murphy. Cassie is an elderly Jack Russell Terrier and Murphy is a really cute mutt. They wait at the end of the driveway for the school bus with their tails wagging. They love to beg for treats and usually are successful in getting them! We do have our very own digger! Check out the photos in our album to see our own canine backhoe! :)

Our local elementary school is top-rated and both Julie and Kirk try to volunteer quite often.

We attend Presbyterian Church services as often as we can. We want our children to have a strong moral upbringing and try to always instill in them a good sense of right and wrong. We always want our children to confident and happy in their lives. There are some Sunday mornings where we like to sleep in and just cook pancakes and bacon and be lazy in our pajamas, too.

We would love to become parents to your child. We give you our most heartfelt promise that your child would always receive unconditional love and support. He or She will have a loving home filled with hugs, fun activities, and 4 siblings who are so excited about adopting. He or She will have the love of a large extended family who are already eagerly anticipating their arrival. We have items for both little boys and little girls so we are ready for whoever comes home to us!

Thanks so much again for your time. We hope this letter gives you a good sense of how much your child would be loved and treasured. Your child will always know the story of their adoption and of the beautiful gift you have given our family. He or She will always know of the amazing sacrifice you made when you decided to place them in our arms. We would be more than happy to always keep in touch with you if you so desire.

Please contact us any time via email and we will call or email you back immediately.

Best Wishes and God Bless!
Julie and Kirk

Adoption Is In Our Hearts... Julie and Kirk were both involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program before we met. We always wanted to help children and even talked about adoption when we were dating. After our two biological sons were born, we experienced infertility problems. We knew that the time had come to find our children through adoption. Our son Rory came home to us two years ago. He is full of energy and giggles. He fit into our family right from the beginning and called Julie "Mama" from the moment they first met! We love him with all of our hearts and our boys are so happy to have Rory as their younger brother. About a year amd a half ago, we placed our profile on Parent Profiles and were blessed to have been found by a grandmother seeking a home for her beautiful granddaughter. Alea came home to us shortly after and fits into our family perfectly! We keep in touch with both Alea's mom and grandmother and couldn't have asked for a better relationship. One of the highest compliments we have ever received is when Alea's mom said that she wished we were her parents, too.
About Us... From Julie: Hi there! I'm here to talk to you about Kirk. He is a very sweet and charming man who loves animals and children. I knew when I met him that he was the one I would one day marry. He has a very calm way about him and has an incredible sense of patience, too. He loves showing the kidshow to work on cars or how to plow a field with one of his old tractors. He is the type of dad who is up at night when the kids are sick....checking on them at 3am and making sure they are not too warm or too cold. He's also really good with homework and helps out while I am cooking dinner. Kirk is back in college seeking a Masters in Special Education. He will be a great teacher!

From Kirk: Hello and Greetings! I am here to tell you a bit about Jules. First off, she is the best wife and mother I could ever ask for! She loves us all like no one else could. She is beautiful both inside and out and I am so thankful to have her in our lives. Our children are gentle souls who love to help out and care for others. I think they have learned so much of that from Jules. She is constantly doing something for her friends or even for people she hardly knows. She just cares so much about others. She truly is an inspiration to me and to our children. She would be a wonderful mother to your child. I can promise you that your child will always be comforted with hugs and love whenever he or she has a boo-boo, he or she will always be praised for doing her best work when coloring a picture, and he or she will have a mommy and daddy who love him or her unconditionally.
Love and Laughter Await! Our family is filled with grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins who are waiting with open arms and loving hearts for our new addition to come home.

There is so much love and laughter in a large family and our son or daughter will grow up knowing that he or she will always be loved and cherished by many.

We wish you all the best as you make your decision for placement. Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about our family.

God Bless,
Julie and Kirk
