Todd & Mandy are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

Hi Thank you so much for taking the time to read a little bit more about our family. We are Mandy and Todd and our daughter Madison, who joined our family in 2006 through the amazing experience of adoption. Being in an open adoption, we know the grace and courage that you have in considering this option and wish you the best during this time. The three of us are so excited to be beginning the journey towards welcoming a baby to our family and we hope that the next few words will provide you an insight into who we are, our hopes and dreams, and the love we have to share.

About Us We are a fun & loving young couple in our late twenties. We will soon be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and have been inseparable since we first met 8 years before that. Not a day goes by that either of one of us can wake up and not think that we are perfect for each other. Having loved every single moment as parents since Madison was born, we can’t wait to share our love and those special moments with a new little baby.

Mandy is a fun, playful, and intensely committed woman. Although she would never admit it, she is very domestic around the home. She is quite the baker and especially loves eating the leftover batter right from the spoon. Just about every week our home is filled with the smell of fresh baked cookies, brownies, or cupcakes. This is especially true around the holidays, when seasonal treats and festive decorations take over. Previously Mandy worked as a fashion merchandiser, but with the arrival of Madison she is now a happy and content stay at home mom. She cherishes the opportunity to spend so much time with Madison playing house, being silly, or going shopping together. They also love to go to events at the library or park district and get involved with local playgroups. She can’t wait to share these and new experiences with another child.

Todd is a genuine, hardworking, active guy. He enjoys being with his family as well as getting out to play golf or spend time with friends. Being somewhat old-fashioned, Todd is always interested in a good conversation or reading a book. While Mandy lives for sugar, Todd loves the smell of the BBQ and is often trying out new and tasty recipes. He is a Product Consultant working for a fantastic financial research company that allows for plenty of time off to spend with our family. Todd absolutely loves being a dad and raising Madison. They love to run around the house and play hide and seek, explore new things, or do “yard work” together! Todd’s favorite time of the day is cuddling up with Madison for bedtime stories and rocking together before she goes to sleep. It is these same special moments that he will treasure with a new baby.

Madison Madison is an adorable little girl with a personality that matches her fiery red hair. Her infectious laughter and smile make every day so much fun for everyone around her. She’s a little thinker who loves to do puzzles and read stories with us. She won't sit still for long though and playing in her house in our backyard or going down her slide could keep her busy for hours! She also loves to be affectionate and give hugs and kisses to everything from her baby dolls to our cat Oliver. Her new brother or sister will not have a shortage of love from her!

FAMILY TIME

We love to spend time together as a family and as a couple. Whether it is playing in our yard, going to a local park, or taking Madison out for a bike ride, we like to take advantage of our time by doing new and fun things. Recently we have gone to the zoo in Chicago, to a local parade, and also trick or treating on Halloween! We treasure the moments we have together, and they will become even more special with another child in our family.

Ever since we met, traveling has also been something we love to do. Although our trips now take on a more family flair, we still try to get away every now and then. Madison has already been on a few vacations, and her favorite so far has been Disneyland! As she and her brother or sister grow up, we want them to have as many amazing experiences in the world as they can.

When we have time together as a couple, we find ourselves sitting down for a quiet dinner, going to the movies, or just hanging out on our couch. Both of us are quite content just enjoying each other's company and relaxing.

Just before Christmas five years ago, we brought home our cat Oliver. He is definitely part of the family and pretty much takes life as it comes. Madison is Oliver’s best friend and he loves to roll around and play with her, even when she is chasing him around the house!

Family & Friends We both come from very tight nit families that absolutely adore Madison and are thrilled that another baby may be coming soon! Most of them live nearby and we are able to see them quite often. Our parents love to spend as much time as possible with their grandchildren, which comes in handy when we need a babysitter.

Spending time with our friends is also important to us. Many of them live nearby or close enough that we can see them quite often. When we can, we try and get together for dinner, catch our college's football games, or just catch up.

Many of our siblings, cousins, and friends also have their own young families as well. Getting all of the kids together at the zoo or museum is always so much fun for everyone. Madison and her future brother or sister have plenty of other children to play and grow up with!

OUR HOME

We live in a small town outside of Chicago in a new two story home. Our home has 3 bedrooms, and the third is just waiting to be decorated as a nursery! Our neighborhood is a mix of families, young and old, and there are children of all ages. There are always families fishing at the pond, kids riding their bikes, or small gatherings in someone’s backyard nearby. We are within a mile of our downtown, which provides us the opportunity to walk or bike to the local farmer’s market, popcorn stand, or to a neighborhood park. In addition, we have many opportunities for children’s activities, including story time at the library, music or tumbling classes, or simply meeting some other children at the park.

IN CLOSING

We both love being parents and are excited to have another baby in our loving family. Raising children is a profound honor and something that we do and will continue to cherish.
