From Us to You . . . Dear Friends,

Thank you for the time you are taking to learn about who we are. We know you are on a journey of searching and we hope as you continue on that journey that you will feel happiness and peace in knowing your Heavenly Father loves you very much. We hold a special place in our heart for you and all those who are on this tender path.

We are grateful for all the blessings we have received in our lives. It has been a special blessing to become parents and we look forward to having more children come into our home. As parents, we feel a great responsibility to teach our children about the good things in life and to help them feel loved. There is so much we want for our children – We want them to feel the strong love we have for them and also know that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them deeply too . . . We want them to be healthy and happy but to also learn that they can overcome trials in their life . . . We want to help them explore the world around them and to see all the good that is there. Most of all, we want them to become who they want to be, realize their potential, and find what makes them happy in life. We are excited to see our children grow because we know how much good awaits them.

Our family is the top priority and the LOVE of our life. There is nothing we wish for more than to see our family be happy! We treasure the peace in our home and it will always be a place of love for anyone who enters. Our love is what binds us together and sees us through the challenges of life. We are so grateful to have each other!

Beyond all you may ever learn about us, just know we love you. Even though we don’t know you yet, we do pray for you. We will never fully understand your side of the adoption path, but we know you have a great choice to make. You probably have many questions on your mind right now - please feel comfortable contacting us - we are happy to answer any questions you might have. We are open to sharing letters/emails, pictures, phone calls, visiting in person, and being as open as you would like throughout this journey.

Jonathan, Jill, and Dallin

Once Upon a Time . . . Our story began with being total strangers one day and forever sweet hearts the next. We were set up on a blind date in 2001 - just a month before Jill left to serve a mission for her church in Detroit, MI. Jonathan had recently returned from serving a mission in Venezuela and was starting back into college. Jill left for Detroit in February of 2001 and we wrote many letters during the eighteen months she was gone. It was a wonderful way to get to know each other better. Within a month of Jill coming home, we were engaged and then married two months later in December 2002 - each day since has been one of learning, adventure, and fun!

We lived in Arizona for two years while Jonathan worked as an HR manager. Jonathan is currently pursuing his MBA and will graduate in April, 2008. He has enjoyed being back in school again and likes the challenges that it has brought. Jill stays home with Dallin and keeps the house running. She is finishing her degree through online classes and is excited to soon accomplish that goal!

We can’t go any further without saying more about Dallin, who we adopted as a newborn. He’s a very energetic and happy toddler. He is very curious, loves to learn, explores everything, and enjoys life. It can be quite the task to keep up with all he does! He enjoys being around people and draws them in with his contagious personality and big blue eyes! Dallin has brought new dimensions of joy and love into our lives as we have been given the special opportunity to be his parents. We love him so much!

Thoughts from Jill . . .

I just LOVE Jonathan – I really do with all my heart!!! From the very first, I loved his smile and came to find it was just the beginning of his kind ways. He is a patient, loving person and has been the greatest support and motivation in my life! He is an honest person and works hard in all he does.

Jonathan grew up in Ogden, Utah and is the 6th of 7 children. He has 4 sisters, 2 brothers and wonderful parents. Their family is very musical and always seems to have something to perform.

Jonathan has a bit of a spunky personality – which always keeps a smile on my face. He is full of curiosity and is always up for a good adventure. But he is also one that enjoys his quiet time and time with his family – he always has time for his family. He is a WONDERFUL father and I can tell that he loves being Dad!

Jonathan is truly a loving and happy person - I feel blessed by him each day! He has a love for life and always has a good dream in his head – and he has the mind to accomplish great things. I love him and I know that he loves me and Dallin – that is the best feeling in the world!

Thoughts from Jonathan . . .

Jill is as sweet as they come. She is an amazing woman who I have grown to love more and more as the days and years pass by. She is an angel mother and stepped into the role without missing a beat. She is kind, patient, concerned and takes seriously the awesome stewardship we have to raise these special spirits.

She also grew up in Ogden, UT and is the only girl out of 7 children. She has 2 older brothers and 4 younger brothers. What a childhood that was!

Happy and cheerful – people immediately like Jill, and she likes others. People of all ages are instantly drawn to her and her easy and outgoing, friendly style. Gentle – that is another word that describes Jill and how she interacts with others. Her first priority is always the family. She values family time and togetherness. She also values the gospel. She has a very personal relationship with the Lord and works hard to strengthen it every day. Jill also likes nature and has a very soft spot in her heart for any animal (even the occasional spider that sneaks into the house).

Things That Make Us Happy . . . Spending time together as a family is something we treasure. Being outside – whether it is just going for a walk, playing at the park, or helping our son Dallin explore new things – is always a favorite activity. At home we often read together, dance a lot, and have silly times. We both play the piano and enjoy music of all kinds. It has been fun to watch Dallin catch on to the joy of music as he stands on his tiptoes to reach the piano keys, bounces to the beat of a song, and spins around while waving his arms to dance. He even has his own way of singing that we love.

We love to be in the kitchen together to cook meals and share treats. Dallin always joins in the fun as well with all we do – he never wants to be left out of anything. We enjoy getting together with friends and neighbors to play games and let our children play together—any excuse to have a treat night!

We also enjoy spending time together with our extended families—Dallin loves his grandparents and playing with his cousins. We have a close relationship with our families and we can always feel of their love and support.

Jonathan –

Reading – relaxing at the end of the day
Swimming – fun as well as good exercise
Walking – to enjoy the day with his family
The News – interested in the world around him
Sudoku – keeps his brain sharp
Cinnamon Rolls – Yum!
Laughing – and making his family laugh!
Trivia – usually to quiz Jill with
Traveling – wants to see the world
Family – always loves time with family

Jill –

Learning – to keep her brain working
Sewing – clothes, quilting, alterations, etc.
Cooking – always fun to try something new!
Playing piano – one of the great loves of her life!
Music – there is a great soundtrack to everyone’s life – it is what keeps us going
Mothering – her greatest love - and greatest way to learn love
Walking – for exercise or to take Dallin and show him new things
Playing games – we always need a little competitive spirit!
Family – top priority!

Our Hopes and Dreams . . . It is a hard task to try and describe ourselves in such a short amount of time. We also realize that you have a hard task of trying to sort through many different profiles to find the perfect couple for you and your baby. Adoption truly is a blessing to us because that is how our family will grow. Family is so important to us and we truly cherish our time as parents. It is such a joy – and an amazement – to see a little baby grow and learn. We look forward to seeing Dallin continue to grow and become a wonderful man. We also look forward to seeing our family grow as we adopt other children – we know that our hearts will be filled with more and more love with each child that comes into our home.
