If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Our Special Someone
Hello! Thank you so very much for taking the time to read our letter and getting to know us. What a courageous and special person you are to make an adoption plan for your baby. We can only imagine how difficult this decision is for you. We truly feel blessed that you are considering us and promise to provide a supportive, loving and totally devoted family for your baby.
Steve and I met in college and dated for 6 years before we were married in May 1994. We have been married for over 13 years and are great friends and have an open, honest and loving relationship.
We have been blessed with 2 beautiful boys, Matthew, 6 ½ and Nicholas, 4; both of whom were conceived with the help of fertility medications. Our struggles with infertility and a miscarriage have strengthened our marriage and brought our family closer. We have always dreamed of having a large family and strongly feel that adoption is the answer to our prayers for a third child.
Family is very important to us. Even though some of our family is out-of-town, we spend a lot of time together, including birthdays, holidays and sometimes mini-vacations. Steve is the 3rd of 4 children and I am the oldest of 3. We have 15 nieces and nephews between us and many cousins with whom we are close. Matthew and Nicholas have a special bond with their cousins and thoroughly enjoy the time they spend together. Steve’s parents have been married for 45 years and my parents were married for 38 years prior to my father’s death. Our family is very supportive of our decision to adopt and is very excited to share in our adoption process, just as we were when my brother and sister-in-law adopted their little girl. Our families cannot wait to welcome another baby into our family.

Steve is a Global Account Manager for a large international logistics company and handles one of the company's largest accounts. He is responsible for the overall service to and profitability from the account. Steve has worked for this company for 7+ years and has had the opportunity to travel to several countries around the world.
Prior to being a stay-at-home mom, I worked for General Electric for 14 years as a Systems Project Manager. I managed many different software projects from start to finish and developed end-user software applications. After I gave birth to Matthew, I worked part-time until he was 1 year old, and then decided to stay home. It was one of the best decisions we have made. I have been able to witness my boys’ first smiles, first words and first steps. Being there to see Matthew and Nicholas grow and change daily made me appreciate the miracle each is and to really appreciate being a mom.
Since I also love taking photos and making albums of our family, I became an Independent Consultant with Creative Memories where I to teach scrapbooking workshops for both adults and children and sell scrapbook supplies. This job allows me stay-at-home with my children so I can continue to be a part of their daily activities while also adding a little to our family’s income.
Steve and I really enjoy playing tennis and golf together. We also try to set aside a ‘date-night’ to do dinner and sometimes a movie, meet with friends or just simply catch up on our week . We are also very involved in our church community. It is through our parish that we have met so many of our wonderful friends. Steve and I try to get away for an overnight every once in awhile – we feel we are better parents when we allow these special times for ourselves, plus the kids love having a sleepover with Nana and Papa. Steve and I also love snow skiing and hope to teach our children to ski someday.
Steve loves to watch sports, play golf, basketball and exercise. Steve also enjoys reading. Steve really enjoys ‘wrestling’ with the boys and helping them with their sporting activities. Steve is also great at making fruit smoothies for the family as a special evening treat and Saturday morning cheesy-eggs.
Besides playing tennis and scrapbooking, I enjoy reading, baking, cooking, exercising and playing cards with friends. I have also had the opportunity to be a room parent for Matthew’s class for 2 years and love being able to see him interact with his classmates and take part in their field trips and class parties.
Matthew enjoys sports, especially basketball and baseball and loves hanging out with his friends. Nicholas is a free-spirit who enjoys puzzles, I-spy books and following his big brother. Both boys enjoy gymnastics and swimming. They have so much fun at the pool and we often spend an entire afternoon or evening there. It is truly precious to see the sheer joy on their faces as they learn to be better swimmers. Matthew recently started jumping off the diving boards; he was so proud of himself and we were of him. Both boys enjoy helping me bake cookies for holidays and plant flowers in our garden. They are mommy’s big helpers when it’s time to set up for a scrapbook workshop. Matthew looks forward to the special time we set aside to add photos to our vacation albums. They also both love to read and have books read to them and we often read their photo albums as bedtime stories.
As a family, we love to spend time outdoors, taking bike rides, going to the zoo and swimming. On weekend evenings we have popcorn and game or movie night and on Sundays we attend church together. We visit our out-of-town families often. Our kids especially love to spend time at Steve’s sister’s family lake cabin in Wisconsin. They also enjoy running around with their triplet cousins in Ohio. They love their cousins and have so much fun spending the weekend with them. We work hard to take a family vacation every year. We had lots of fun building sand castles on the beach in Hilton Head, feeding the dolphins at Sea World in San Antonio and meeting Mickey Mouse at Disney World. We hope to enjoy our next vacation at LegoLand in San Diego.
Our Home
We live on a winding tree-lined street in a community we absolutely love. We are walking distance to a beautiful park, playground and pool. On most nice evenings, you can see many of our neighbors outside, parents talking, kids blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk, playing baseball, riding bikes or playing on each other’s swing sets. We are lucky to have such wonderful neighbors; we often take care of each other’s homes and pets when a family is on vacation.

Steve and I are firm believers in open, honest communication to keep our marriage strong. We encourage our children to share their joys and disappointments with us. We eat dinner together every night and we each share our favorite parts of a day and if anything made us sad or upset that day.
Every night while cuddling with our children and saying their bedtime prayers, we often reflect on just how important our family and home life is to us and how lucky we are to have each other. We really look forward to meeting you and getting to know you and would feel blessed and honored to share our love and family with a new baby.
Blessings,
Steve and Christy
