Our History
From Amy -

Fred and I met Thanksgiving Day 1996 in Texas. I was serving a mission and my second area happened to be where his grandparents and uncle lived. His grandmother invited me and my companion to have Thanksgiving dinner with her family. There were over 30 people there when we arrived and to be honest neither of us remembered each other. Five years later, I was at work and a friend talked me into join an LDS online dating service. I was completely against joining it at first and refused to put my picture with my profile online. But after some strong persuasion from another good friend of mine I uploaded my picture and soon I had two emails, one from a guy in Utah and another from a guy in Texas who happened to live in my second area I served in. I was interested in playing the name game with the guy in Texas, but not interested in a long distance relationship. (Even though he was cuteÜ)

From Fred -

I don’t know why I joined this particular site; I was just ready to move on with my life so I decided to give it a try. I was really only looking for people in Texas as I did not want a long distance relationship. For some reason however I clicked on a Utah profile and up popped a picture and I recognized the girl, I did not know how so I read on and saw she served a mission in my area. I wrote her trying to find out how I recognized her and discovered she served in the ward I lived in but not during the same time frame. She wanted to play the “name game” and see how many people we knew in common, so I emailed her some names. I did not hear back from her for a while so I wrote here one day and simply asked if she still wanted to play the game, after that we emailed about every day. It did not take long to figure out she was one of the 2 Sister Missionaries that spent that Thanksgiving Day with us and I decided I would fly up and meet her. I had relatives I have not seen in a long time in Utah and figured worse case scenario I would spend some good time with my relatives. Long story short I did not spend a lot of time with my relatives. Amy and I hit it off and fell in love, It was (and still is) wonderful. I only spent a week in Utah but I spent all but one day getting to know Amy. Amy flew down to Texas a few months later and met my family and that is when I decided to propose to her.

6 months later we were married in the Mt. Timpanogoes temple. Over 5 years later we are best of friends, we love being with each other and we are support for each other as we go through the trials of life. We constantly feel like we love each other more and more each day and look forward to sharing that love with children.

About Fred - from Amy I love my ‘bear’ so much he was well worth the wait. He is such a wonderful man, he has such a loving heart he loves to serve and help anyone he can. He is the second oldest out of 9 kids. Ages ranging from 34 to 13, 6 girls and 3 boys. He is a family man and comes from a very gospel oriented family. When we are around his family it amazes me how strong of a loving bond his whole family has with each other.

Fred has a great way with kids of all ages. It is almost as if they are drawn to him. I just love watching our friend’s toddlers and babies adore him and want to play with him. Fred and my nephew are great buddies, they both love Star Wars and they love to play PS2 games with each other.

Fred also loves to go shooting with his friends (and me when he can talk me into it.) He loves to talk about classic cars and trucks with just about any one. One of his favorite TV shows is Home Improvement. (I think it is because Tim the tool man likes old cars too.) He loves the mountains and likes to go for drives to explore all them around us. He enjoys camping, Dutch oven cooking, and 4x4ing, going to yard sells with me and going to classic car shows. He enjoys playing all types of games from Rook to Monopoly to just about any board or card game out there. He loves the computer and has several websites he has designed. He wants to continue his expertise in different computer related areas. But most important I love the way he treats and respects me and I know with out a doubt he is going to be a great father one day.
About Amy - From Fred I love Amy more than I ever thought could be possible, she is the most wonderful person I have ever met. Amy is the youngest of 2, she has an older sister who lives nearby and has 2 children. Her sister had a third child who passed away as an infant. Amy is so wonderful with her niece and nephew; they are such an important part of her life. She has always been there for them and has always been the best aunt that she could be.

Amy is a very loving and kind hearted person; she is great with kids and loves helping all her friends with their children. Amy is fun to be with and is very outgoing. She is easy to get along with and is a person that will always be there when you need her.

Amy loves to scrapbook and she is very good at it. She loves to read LDS Romance and Suspense books, camp, go for scenic drives, she loves to travel and her favorite places, which she has visited, are the Oregon Coast and Washington State. She enjoys playing games like Phase 10, SkipBo and Scatagories. She loves the outdoors and loves animals, especially our cats and dogs.

About Us We enjoy spending time together and just being with each other. We like having Amy’s niece and nephew over to play games or watching movies. We both love to play all kinds of games. Every chance we get we go down to visit Fred’s grandpa and new grandma. While we are there we have competitions playing Rook and Rummy Cube with them.

We like being outdoors especially in the mountains. We are fortunate to live in an area that is surrounded by mountains. Our favorite time is in the fall when we can go for drives up the canyons to look at the fall leaves. We also enjoy going camping with our dogs. We always have some sort of an adventure each trip. We also try to go camping with our friends during the summer. One of our favorite places to camp is in the mountains around Strawberry Reservoir; another favorite place is Yellowstone National Park. We love to cook with our Dutch ovens and try new recipes with our friends.

We both come from families that have a lot of traditions. Once we got married we tried to create some of our own. For us Christmas is our favorite holiday and one of our favorite traditions is around Christmas time we invite a lot of friends and family over for a Christmas party where we always play the ‘white elephant’ gift game. Another tradition is on Christmas Eve we get to lay out our stockings and we get to open one present before going to be bed. We look forward to sharing both of our families and our own traditions with our children.

We look forward to becoming parents and welcoming a precious child into our home. Ever since we have been married we have wanted to start a family and after struggling with infertility we decided adoption was the way Heavenly Father wanted us to have a family. We just want you to know that we will love and cherish your precious baby. We will always tell him or her how much you love them and cared for them.
