Robert & Maria are hopeful adoptive parents from Texas waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Come ShareRdream! The water is great! Having fun at Typhoon Lagoon! ~ July 2008

We will kiss away boo boos; treat our children with respect, help to build a positive self esteem and have some kind of pet. Be open about adoption, create a home filled with trust, have an open door policy for our children's families… for us this is a must!

Love is fundamental it is the key to who we are, providing a great education, will take our children far. Life is about learning we will make that fun too; we will jump into swimming pools and share adventures with you. Make believe concerts in our living room, can you believe our guitar is our kitchen broom? Pillow fights galore are never a chore; we get so tired it makes Robert snore. We are committed parents involved in all things our kids do, we clean runny noses and make snow angels too :)

Welcome,
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. If you asked us to describe our lives in one sentence it would be...we are Livin our vidas loca ~ (English translation: Living our lives like crazy!) We really don't know where to begin how do we put a lifetime of adventures into a letter? We can't, so we will touch on some of the important things in our lives and hope that you will enjoy some of our adventures and stories. We know there is alot to read so we bolded parts of our letter so that you can scan through our letter quickly.

Though we haven’t met you we believe that you are an incredible woman with an enormous amount of love, courage and strength. We are honored and grateful that you are considering us as a prospective family for your precious angel. Entrusting a baby to a family through adoption is the most wonderful kind of love. In 2003 our daughter was placed in our arms by a very loving family, who found us on Parent Profiles (see our July 9th Journal to read a letter from our daughters birth mother).

Having an open adoption has been a wonderful experience for all of us. Stars entire birth family is an extension of our family; we believe that there can never be too many people who love our children. There aren't enough words in the universe to express how much we love and cherish children we consider it an honor to be chosen to be parents. Having Star in our family has made our lives richer and we laugh more than we ever did before, yet...we all feel that someone special is missing. We know in our hearts that there is another baby waiting for us to love for a lifetime.
Great adventures await your little one! These pictures are of all of us playing in shaving cream with some of Stars friends who came for a sleep over ~ Shaving Cream parties are a great way to spend time with the kids and get creative! We have just as much fun as the kids do! :) June 2008!

This wonderful world is filled with adventures and exciting treasures just imagine how much fun your little one will have in a homemade sled. Stars little brother or sister will get to go sailing, chase ocean waves, ride horses, see Broadway shows in New York, play soccer and so much more! We are the biggest kids you will ever meet, the earth is our playground and we want to share our love for it with our children! We have had snowball fights in Switzerland, made sand castles in the Bahamas, and we go to Disney World almost every year. We want to take our children with us as we continue to explore this wonderful world. There are mountains to climb, Tea Parties to enjoy, oceans to play in, snow angels waiting to be made, bugs to catch, and treasures to be found. There is a new adventure waiting for us as at every turn...

Our Home & Family Playtime… We have a very big and cozy home within walking distance of two exemplary schools. Our home has has 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a game room and more, our backyard is huge. We will live on a cul-de-sac where kids fly kites, and take their baby dolls for a walk in their strollers, skateboard, ride bikes and scooters. In the evenings after 7:00 the parents sit out and watch the kids play, needless to say our home is a great place to play indoor and outdoors.

Our home is very kid friendly so we host play dates here, the more the merrier, the kids lovingly call Maria, Tia (Aunt in Spanish). Maria's best friends and their kids come over often they like to rock out…I laugh so hard every time I see them using brooms for guitars and spoons for microphones; they dance and sing and entertain the kids. Our family time is great we have picnics and play dates at Sea World or we head to the zoo for a day filled with animals, Dolphins are our favorite animal to interact with; we rent movies, hang out and visit family. Can you imagine how much fun we will have taking your little one to see live dolphins’ and whales every couple of weeks? Just imagine how much fun your child will have playing at a water park or jumping in rain puddles in our back yard. We can hardly wait for this special baby to come home and play with the best big sister in the world. “A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, and a golden thread to the meaning of life.” ~Isadora James

We want to give our children the opportunity to find their true passions in life. We nurture creativity, sometimes we play in washable paint and create fun art; we sing, dance, or we pull out the musical instruments and pretend to be a marching band. Just for the thrill of it we have jumped into swimming pools with our clothes on, every time we do Star squeals with delight! The kids who visit think that Robert & I are sooo cool because we get on the floor and play board games, we play chase and hide and seek and we roast hot dogs and smores at our fire-pit in the back yard. We love the fire-pit because it makes us feel like we are camping. Weekends are extra fun; we surprise each other with breakfast in bed, extra butterfly kisses and tickle fests where we usually end up rolling around on the floor.

The future big sister... Star is a very active little girl; everywhere we go we create our own adventures. She loves to read so we use our imaginations to travel to make believe worlds; we dress up, build forts in the living room, have friends and family over for pajama parties and we snuggle alot. Some of Stars favorite things include feeding her horse, baking (she loves “Pinkalicious” cupcakes), gymnastics, swimming (the girl has an awesome tan...it comes from being Hispanic) , she enjoys playing in the garden, drawing pictures with chalk on our patio and playing on the big playground in our backyard. We also have a teeter-totter that looks like an airplane Star and her friends take turns being pilots.

Family traditions... On Christmas Eve we gather at Maria's parents home and sing Christmas carols in English and in Spanish. While grandpa plays the guitar the rest of us sing (sometimes off key :). Others "la, la, la" the words, the kids dance, clap and sing along with us. At the end of the night our faces hurt because we have all laughed so much.
We are a little bit Country and a little bit Rock-n-Roll... Star and Olivia are roasting marshmallows so they can eat smores at the beach. July 4th, 2008 at the Grand Floridian at Disney.

~ Our entire family is waiting patiently to meet the newest member of our family :) I am from a large, close Hispanic family, both sides of our family love to play outdoors; Roberts’s family has a ranch with all kinds of animals. You could say that...we are a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll :) If you stop by our home you will probably hear a lot of laughing, our entire family gets in on pillow fights, sometimes, my parents start them, once in awhile we chase each other around the house with shaving cream pies the kids do belly laughs when someone gets shaving cream on them. We live in a big beautiful home; it is a great place to live, play, and hangout. We put our feet on the furniture; eat in the family room, trip on toys once in awhile, shoot pool in the game room and play with remote control cars in the house. There are alot of kids in our family their ages range from 2 months to 14 years old they all love visiting our home! Some of the older kids like competitive swimming, soccer and tee ball, we enjoy cheering them on in their choice of sports. Your little one will have lots of cousins who will love and adore him or her. Your precious baby will even have a cousin close to his or her age, baby Carly was born in May of 2008, imagine all the fun these two babies will have growing up. The picture is of the kids enjoying a Sing Along & Smores at the fire pit.

A message from Robert "Being a dad has been the most rewarding experience of my life I never imagined how much fun it would be until I became a dad. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun Star and I have. Star dances on my shoes and we pretend to be on Dancing with the Stars, we look for bugs, we wrestle and water our garden somehow... this turns into a huge water fight, talk about fun she is a daddy's girl at heart! Maria told me about the awesome relationship that she and her sisters have with her dad, now that I am a dad I truly understand what unconditional love is. I look forward to sharing our lives with another baby; the next chapter of our lives is going to be great! “

From Maria...heart to heart “It seems like I waited my whole life to hear one word...mom. To me, hearing mom is like music, it fills my heart with so much joy! I can hardly wait to kiss and hug our future baby; I look forward to tickling baby toes, smelling his/her hair and giving this baby tons of kisses. I want to hold our baby close to my heart and let him or her know how much they are loved by everyone in their life. Being a stay at home mom with two children will be twice as much fun! Taking pictures is one of my many passions I plan to turn our adventures into hard bound books so that our children will be able to read about their adventures over and over again."
We are the family that Love built... Adoption has touched our lives in more ways than anyone can imagine. We have family and friends who have adopted, we even have a sister-n-law who placed a baby in a loving home when she was a teenager, after 30 years they were reunited. Carla is very involved in her daughters' life and is able to spend quality time with Diana's two boys. Back then they didn't have open adoptions thank goodness times have changed because Carla is thrilled to be a part of her grandson's lives and enjoys being a "Nana" :)

Being all that we can be... For us, life is more than just arts and crafts, vacations and playing. We believe in giving back to our community and trying to make a difference in the lives of people around us. For over eight years we struggled with infertility and failed adoptions. Now that we are parents we don’t take one moment for granted. Our goal is to teach our children how to make healthy choices so that when they grow up they will be strong, loving, confident people who will follow their dreams.

From one loving family to another we can promise that your baby will know a life filled with family values, wonderful traditions, endless adventures, tons of laughter, and lots of hugs, kisses and unconditional love from the moment we see him or her. Honesty and integrity are very important in all relationships; which is why we believe in open adoption. We value family so much that we want to be able to nurture relationships with our children’s birth families so that our children will know their biological siblings and grandparents. In short you and your family are welcome to come for visits and we will send pictures and updates via e-mail.

We can't even begin to imagine how difficult this journey has been for you. If you have any questions regarding our relationship with our daughters birth family they are open to talking to you or corresponding via e-mail.

There are many uncertainties in life however we can promise that in our home your baby will know who you are and, they will always know that they were placed with our family out of love. Open Adoption is about the love of two families who want the best for one wonderful little person who will grow up knowing what true love is all about!

Thank you for reading our stories, we hope they brought a smile to your face. We also hope and pray that our letter has given you a sense of ease so that you will feel comfortable enough to call us. We can't wait to meet you and hope that you will ShareRdream2, the sign outside our door and in our hearts says "Welcome".

May all of your dreams come true,
Maria, Robert and Star
