Adoption in Progress.
Dear Birthmother
Dear Birthmother-
We are Jeremy and Jennie and we are delighted to have the opportunity to tell you about us and our family. We hope that you will come to love and trust us with raising and loving your child as if it was our own.
We met in April 2004 and married in July 2006. At the same time, we sold our first home and moved into a family filled neighborhood. We bought a home that was built in 2006 that has three bedrooms. There is a loft that we have made into a “game” room for friends and family to come and visit to have fun. One of the bedrooms is currently being changed into a baby's room with the theme of Winnie the Pooh.
When we got together, the first thing that we discussed was having children. Shortly after getting married, we realized that having a child naturally would not be possible for us. We were disappointed, but had always known that adoption was a possibility for us. Jeremy has a sister and cousin that were adopted, so he’s been acquainted with adoption his whole life.
Jeremy is a hardware support specialist for Costco Corporation. He pretty much knows computers backwards and forwards. He’s knowledgeable in all areas of life. He has a well-rounded education and knowledge about life.
Jennie is a registered nurse. While in nursing school, she was a nanny for twins. The hardest part of being a nanny was having to leave the babies at the end of the day. Now, she is working in a hospital with patients of all ages.
Since we started the process of adoption, we have adjusted our schedules to accommodate raising a child. Both of us were raised by stay at home moms and we both appreciate the love and attention we got because of having a parent at home throughout our upbringings. Our schedules are such that we will not have to use daycare. We will both be raising the child.
Our time together is spent with our friends and family, watching movies, playing games, and playing outdoors. The closet in our game room is filled with different board games that we’ve collected over the years. We have grown up playing games and hope to continue the tradition. Jennie’s grandfather invented games and playing his games was always something special for her and her sisters.
What we say about eachother
Jennie is one of the strongest, most empathetic people I know. She has been through some overwhelming times in her life. Jennie took those experiences as a challenge and worked hard to become a registered nurse, something she had wanted to do since she was 12 years old. She uses the lessons she has learned in her life to assist patients through their surgical experiences in the operating room. She would love nothing more that to be a mother to a child, her entire life's dream. Jennie is an excellent quilter, and very generous with her talent. In the time I’ve known her, she has handmade several baby quilts for co-workers, friends and relatives, simply because she wants them to have a keepsake, expecting nothing in return.
Jeremy is a brilliant and attentive person. Jeremy caught my heart because of his thoughtful and caring attitude. Jeremy is one of the few people that has challenged my mind. Every time we have a conversation, my brain has to work to keep up and think outside the box. I knew that Jeremy was the one when my cat Joey, fell in love with him the first time they met. Now that may not seem unusual, but Joey is a very timid cat. He had not liked any male until Jeremy came along. Now they are inseparable. Many people say that animals have an instinct about people, and I absolutely agree!
Our Loving Family
Our family has been extremely supportive throughout our lives. The moment we announced our plans of adopting, we have had nothing but complete support and enthusiasm from everyone. Everyone in our family lives within 30 miles of our home. Jeremy has two brothers and a sister. His two brothers are married and have two children each. One of his brothers had twin girls in April 2008! Jennie has three sisters, all of which are married. Jennie's older sister and her husband are expecting a child in August 2008. Any child of ours will have many playmates while growing up. Jennie’s mom has been planning for grandchildren for over ten years now. Jennie has found a “grandma’s hope chest” at her house with lots of baby clothes and blankets that she has handmade for future grandchildren over the years.
We have two wonderful cats, Joey and Fiona. Joey is twelve years old, and very affectionate and loving. Fiona is four years old and adores cuddling with everyone. Often we will find Joey and Fiona cuddled up together. It's very adorable!
