Dear Birth Mother, Thank you so much for considering us as Adoptive Parents for your child. We admire your courage and can only imagine how difficult this decision is for you. Open adoption is such a wonderful gift that we want to thank you for considering this for your child. We hope that this letter will show you how much we love each other and our enthusiasm towards expanding our family through open adoption.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
We have been married for 3 ½ years and have been together for five years. We are a young, healthy, fun couple that love and respect each other deeply. Ever since we got married we have dreamed of having children and starting a family. We have struggled with infertility for three years and been unsuccessful at conceiving on our own. We have decided to place our dreams of having a child in God’s hands and hoping through adoption we will be able to fulfill our dream of welcoming a child into our home.

ABOUT GLENN
Glenn grew up in New Jersey just outside of New York and enjoyed spending his childhood going to Yankee games, playing with his friends, and working at a nearby airport. He has two older sisters and one older brother. Glenn's parents are both remarried and we get together with his family often for birthdays, holidays and social gatherings. Most of Glenn's family lives in New Jersey. Glenn's job brought him to the Maryland area right after college. He has been working for the same organization for 16 years. Some of Glenn's hobbies include: cleaning and taking care of our cars, keeping the outside of our house looking great, working on computers, watching sports, and working on home projects.

ABOUT ELIZABETH
Elizabeth grew up in Maryland and participated in a variety of sports as a young child. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, going swimming at a nearby public pool and loved participating in gymnastics. Elizabeth has one older sister and one older brother. Elizabeth's father passed away a few years ago, and her mother lives close by. Most of Elizabeth's family lives in the Maryland area. We get together often for social occasions, birthdays and the holidays. Elizabeth has been working in the Financial Management field for 15 years. Some of Elizabeth's hobbies include: decorating the house, working outside, planting flowers, traveling, attending sporting events and working on home projects.

OUR RELATIONSHIP AND LOVE Glenn and I consider each other our best friends. We really enjoy spending time together. Whether it is working on home projects, spending time outside in the yard, planting flowers, or taking long walks in our neighborhood enjoying the scenery. Time together is something we cherish. We are excited about starting a family and we look forward to all the new activities that a child will bring, such as: stroller rides, bedtime stories, playing games together, enjoying time at our nearby beach, and just being a family. We are truly blessed to have a close family, with lots of Aunts and Uncles and several Nieces and Nephews that can't wait for a little baby to play with. Our family is also very supportive of our decision to adopt a child.

Glenn and I both have good jobs working for the Federal Government. This allows us the opportunity to take off work when a new baby arrives and spend a lot of quality time with the new baby and to be able to provide excellent opportunities throughout our child's life. We can promise our child will attend good schools, be involved in extra curricular activities and get lots of love and attention from us both. Eventually, Elizabeth will stay home with our child and be there for him or her when they get home from school.

AS PARENTS
We share the same beliefs in raising a child. We want our child to have fun and experience all the world has to offer. We want our child to respect others, and we will encourage our child in any road he or she chooses to follow, and we will always be available with love and support.

OUR FAVORITE ACTIVITIES
Glenn and I are both big sport fans. We enjoy watching football, baseball, and going to some of the games. We always attend at least one Yankee game a year for Glenn's Mom's birthday. Our favorite thing to do together is travel. Recently, we had the opportunity to go on vacation to Disney World with some close friends and there two children. This was a great time. Since it was our friend's anniversary, we offered to take their children for a day to allow them to have some time together. Glenn and I took the girls to Sea World. This was so much fun. We got to be parents for a day. We dream of the day of going back to Disney with our children so they can experience the magic.

HOME SWEET HOME Shortly after we got married we had a house built near the Chesapeake Bay. We love our neighborhood and the beautiful water views that it offers. There are many families in the neighborhood with small children. Our child will have lots of playmates to play with. Our neighborhood has community cookouts, organized Halloween events, and lots of parties where everyone brings kids. The elementary, middle school, and high school are excellent and are very close by. The school system is one of the reasons we moved to this area. We both value education and will make sure our child has the best opportunities for succeeding in life. There is a beach within walking distance from our house and there are a lot of swimming activities nearby. Our house is a brick front colonial with 4 bedrooms. We have a big backyard to play and run around, and a finished basement that has plenty of room for toys. The nursery is ready and is just waiting for a child to bring it to life!

IN CLOSING We hope that you have gotten to know us a little better and have provided you a picture into our lives. We hope you like what you see and know that we would be open to accepting you and your child into our family. We promise that we will provide unconditional love, guidance, and safety to your little one. Perhaps you will be our miracle that God wants us to meet to start our family. Please know that we will be with you to provide you support through the adoption process. We have an adoption attorney that we are currently working with and we would be more than willing to meet you and answer any questions that you may have. We look forward to getting to know you and starting an open relationship with you. We will respect your wish of privacy as well should you not want an open adoption.
