Dear Birth Parents
Dear Birth Parents,
Welcome to our profile! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better. First of all, we want to thank you for your courage and love for your child as well as your consideration of adoption. We understood even before we were married that it would be difficult for us to have children of our own. We want to express to you our utmost appreciation for your willingness to help us start our forever family. It is very noble of you, and we hope you understand the joy you will be providing us. We understand how stressful a time this is for you as you make plans for your child’s future. We pray that you may be comforted and guided as you make this decision.
About Us
From our first date in July 2004, we knew that we were going to spend forever with each other. Kham was traveling to Salt Lake City for the 4th of July to visit one of his friends from college. Along the way he decided to stop to attend a church service where we ended up meeting for the first time. The rest they say is history! Kham never did make it to Salt Lake City. We married in November 2004, entering our marriage with an understanding that it takes consideration, commitment and communication to grow. One of the things that make us strong is that we always work together as one, and this is especially true during the most trying times. Instead of blaming each other, we work together. We take the weaknesses that we have, and we work to build them into our strengths. Spending our free time together is what we cherish the most.
About Kham
Kham grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where he is the youngest of three children. He comes from a well-rounded family, and it was his mother who taught him about being compassionate and caring for others. These qualities are really evident especially when he is able to spend time with our nieces and nephews. He loves them as if they were his own. For as long as he could remember, both of Kham's parents worked full-time jobs and owned their own business on the side, so he learned at an early age the true meaning of an honest day's work.
In high school, Kham enjoyed wrestling and participated in Future Business Leaders of America and student government. He graduated his junior year as the class valedictorian. Kham later went on to a technical college where he learned about computer networking and forensics. He earned several awards along the way including being on the president's and dean's list. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2003 and now works as a consultant in the litigation industry.
Kham is a very kind, responsible, hard working, sincere, and compassionate person. He is always looking for ways to do thoughtful and caring things for others. Kham has a great sense of humor and will bring hours of smiles and laughter into our home. He loves to surprise our family and friends with acts of service. He gets along really well with children, especially with our nieces and nephews. Kham has a huge heart and would make a wonderful father. Some of the activities Kham enjoys include hiking, rock climbing, camping, watching sports, reading, and traveling. Kham is always up for adventure and we are always going and doing new things.
About Jola
Jola spent her early childhood years in Montana before her family moved to Utah where they still reside today. She comes from a close knit family where she is the second oldest of five children. They are a supportive group that enjoys each others company. They would spend their summer vacations driving around the United States together to see all the different state and national parks. Growing up, she was taught to work hard and to serve others.
In high school, Jola enjoyed playing soccer and singing in the Show and Chamber Choir where she was able to travel to other states for competitions. She was able to help with the Special Olympics and was fortunate to live in China for 6 months as she taught English to toddlers in orphanages. Today, she works as an instructional aide for special needs students.
Jola is a tender, affectionate and caring person. Peace and harmony in our home is what she strives for each day. She has a strong love for children, and she is always successful at making them feel like they are loved and important. It comes as no surprise that she has won the hearts of all the children she has come in contact with. Jola comes from a well-rounded family that has taught her well. There is no doubt in my mind that she would make a great mother. Some of the activities she enjoys include Scrapbooking, crafts, reading, teaching, camping, hiking and playing the piano.
Our Home
We have a lovely 3-bedroom suburban home that we recently purchased. We live in a family community that is culturally diverse. Our neighbors have become some of our best friends. The neighborhood is always filled with the sound of children laughing and playing. We live close to a new park with children’s playground equipment that would make an adult jealous. The schools in our area have great athletic and academic programs. Our community is definitely a place where a child can live and grow with great opportunities.
We have spent the last several months renovating our home to ensure that it is not only safe for a baby, but that it is an inviting, warming and loving atmosphere as well. Most of our time and effort has been concentrated on the nusery. It has been fun spending late nights painting, setting up all the toys and decorations and putting the crib together.
Why Adopt?
Why are we looking to adopt? For us it is very simple. Our deepest desire is to be parents of an eternal family. We want to teach our children who they are, where they came from and that they are truly beloved children of our Heavenly Father. We have been through the heartache that comes with infertility, and our faith has brought us closer together as a couple. We know that our family is not complete without children, and adoption is the path that we are meant to take. We consider adoption to be a gift of love because not all babies come from a mommy’s tummy. Some babies come from a mommy’s heart.
We are eager to begin having fun. There will be visits to the zoo, playing time in the park, and trips to Sea World. At home we will play games, ride bikes, go rollerblading, and play “gotcha” with the doggies, Marleigh and Allie. We look forward to sending you pictures and letters so that you may remain updated across the years.
Raising children is as rewarding to the parents as it is to the children. We cannot wait to meet this wonderful challenge! Our home will be safe and protective. It will be filled with love and understanding. We will teach of politeness, good manners and respect to others. Learning should be fun and rewarding. We look forward to curling up and reading bed time stories or talking about the fun we just had at the park as we bake cookies.
