Robert & Nancy are hopeful adoptive parents from Indiana waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Hi! We are Nancy, Robert, and Samuel from the Chicago area... We admire your courage and selfless love for considering this option and wish you peace and strength as you make your plans. Your baby is blessed to have a mother who loves him or her so much and our hearts go out to you. While our lives and hearts are full, we feel there is room for more.

We know you have some big decisions to make and you might feel worried. Please take comfort knowing that your baby will be welcomed into our hearts with open arms and will always be loved and cherished by our family. We humbly respect the powerful role that only you can play in giving birth to your baby like giving him or her their beautiful smile and lovely eyes---only you can provide these things. You will forever be an important part of your baby’s life and he or she will always know how much you love them. Our wish is to make your dreams for your baby's life come true and to make a special, life-long bond with you.

Adoption Created Our Family
After years of unsuccessfully trying to have a baby, Samuel Robert joined our family through the miracle of adoption in 2005. He is an energetic and happy boy who loves to laugh, sing, dance, run, cuddle, and blow kisses. He shrieks with joy when he chases his nine young cousins (with one more on the way) all over our house. We treasure every day with him and he brings us much joy and happiness.

We are forever grateful to Samuel’s birthmother for making us a family and share a deep bond and close friendship with her. We keep her updated on his progress and growth with letters and lots of pictures. We feel the openness of this adoption is best for all involved, and we hope to establish a similar sense of openness with the birthmother of our next child, but we would respect your comfort level and wishes.

About Us
We met in college and knew we would be married after only two weeks of dating! We married right after graduation since we were determined to finish college first. We have a strong, loving and committed marriage based on love, honesty, trust, and respect. Our strength is that we work hard to resolve conflicts immediately so that resentments never have a chance to build up.

Family Time
We have a passion for traveling and also enjoy spending many summer days with family and friends at our lake cottage. Visiting Disneyland last summer touched our hearts as there was nothing like seeing “It’s a Small World” through Sam’s awe-struck eyes. We take at least one long vacation every year with many weekend trips in between. We cherish celebrating Christmas Eve with Bob’s family in our home with tons of food (Nancy’s lasagna is a big hit!), a few presents, and much laughter and love.

Our Neighborhood
We live in a large four-bedroom home in a family-friendly wooded neighborhood with top-rated schools and have three beautiful parks within walking distance. Our town has many group and social activities for children. We are fortunate to live close to Chicago and like to visit Brookfield Zoo, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum.
Nancy's Story My Family
I am the “baby” of the family with three siblings and spend a lot of time with my oldest sister, Mary, as we are extremely close and she is Sam’s godmother. She has given me a constant source of strength, love, support, and friendship my entire life.

My Childhood
When not playing with girlfriends and my extensive “Barbie” doll collection, my favorite thing to do was to go bike riding with friends and explore the twisting wooded roads in our neighborhood. This type of scenery is what attracted me to our current neighborhood. It is a wonderful place for kids to grow and play.

My Career
Prior to becoming a full-time mommy, I had two successful careers as an assistant clothing buyer and merchandiser for a national retailer and then as a software application developer for a major bank in Chicago. I enjoyed both jobs, but happily choose to stay home full-time and cherish the fact that I won’t miss out on anything as Sam grows and learns something new every day.

My Interests
I love traveling and exploring new places, but enjoy time at home too. I enjoy decorating, photography, snorkeling in the ocean, swimming, (especially lounging by a colorful tropical pool!), trying new recipes, learning to play the piano, and listening to my Ipod on the health club treadmill (but I shamefully admit I need to go more often…like Bob who is much more disciplined about this). I treasure my time with Sam at our weekly “Mommy and Me” class, as well as reading stories, singing silly songs, dancing, coloring, baking cookies, doing crafts, and going to the park.

Robert Talks About Nancy
Nancy and I truly enjoy each other’s company and I knew she was “THE ONE” soon after we met in college. She has a special capacity for compassion that allows her to put herself in the other person’s shoes to know how they feel. Nancy is honest, generous, positive, funny, smart, and beautiful both inside and out.

Her high level of integrity --- the highest I’ve ever known --- not only make her a wonderful wife and mother, but inspires me to be a better person.
Robert's Story My Family
I am the oldest of four children and we either visit or call each other weekly. My Dad and his wife enjoy babysitting Samuel often. Both my grandmas live just blocks away, at age 91 and 93, and I see them often to help run errands, have dinner in our home, play cards, or just visit.

My Childhood
I had a great childhood and have many fond memories --- especially spending every summer at our lake cottage and my grandma making tons of food for us while we water-skied.

My Career
I love my job as an investment advisor and get a great sense of satisfaction knowing I am helping people gain financial security. The great part is that my hours are flexible so I can spend extra time with Nancy and our children.

My Interests
I see my friends weekly, either playing basketball or golfing. I cherish my time with Sam reading stories, practicing ABCs, and playing in our backyard. I enjoy traveling, boating, swimming, watching movies, playing video games, and rough-housing with our nieces and nephews who all seem to like to tackle “Uncle Bob” simultaneously.

Nancy Talks About Robert
Bob is stable, loyal, kind, loving, funny, smart, and open-minded. He loves learning new things and continually strives for self-improvement. He is solid in every aspect of his life and makes me want to be a better person because of his example. He takes pride in reaching out to children by mentoring a new fifth grade each year and was deeply touched when a former student visited and thanked him for caring about him when he was struggling through a difficult time at home.

Bob is a "big kid" at heart and a terrific father (like I always knew he would be!). I am proud to say he is a great role model for our children and has many great things to teach them.
We Love Being Parents Parenting Style
Both of us believe very strongly in valuing God, family, and education. We were both raised in the Catholic faith and will teach your child to love God and family also. We are honored to be godparents to five of our nieces and nephews and are touched that our families have such faith in us as parents. We celebrate many holidays with our loving families throughout the year where there is much love, laughter and food!

We cherish our close relationships with our siblings and want the same for our children. We were the first children in our families to earn our college degrees and your child will be well educated too as we believe education opens many doors. We believe faith in God, and a good education, balanced with fun activities in the arts, music, sports, travel and special family traditions, will help your child develop to their full potential.

Our Promise
Bless you for loving your baby so much to make this careful plan. You and your baby are in our hearts and prayers. You want the best possible future for your baby and you may feel afraid. We know the decision needs to feel right and we hope we are the family for you.

We would love to get to know you and look forward to whatever form of contact is comfortable for you. Please Send us a message or call us anytime, toll free, at 1-877-210-9381.

Please take comfort that, should you choose us, we promise to teach your child how much you love him or her by respecting and honoring your role in his or her life and will provide a stable, warm and loving family life in which your child can develop confidence in themselves and compassion for others.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter!

With warmest regards,

Nancy, Robert, and Samuel
