Ed & Steph are hopeful adoptive parents from New Jersey waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthparents, We would like to take this opportunity to help you to get to know us. It's our hope that, through this letter, you will see that we are a fun and loving family who are looking forward to again becoming adoptive parents. We are so thrilled to be adoptive parents for over 5 years and we would love to have the chance to adopt a second child which would complete our family.

About Us We met over 16 years ago on a blind date, and have been married for over 12 years. We both have our Bachelor’s degrees. We have a 5-bedroom house with a fenced-in play area as well as a finished basement which also serves as a playroom. It is the same house that Steph grew up in. Steph’s mother also lives with us.

Katelin

Katelin is 5 years old and was adopted as an infant. We have a semi-open adoption. Throughout the year, we correspond through letters and pictures with her birthparents. Katelin is full of energy, artistic, loves music, and enjoys play dates with her friends. She is currently in Kindergarten.

Steph

Steph is an only child. She is very organized, sensitive and caring. She is a stay at home Mom who loves taking care of, and spending quality time with Katelin. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and surfing the Internet.

Ed

Ed has 3 sisters, the youngest being adopted. He is loving, mannerly, and a good provider. He has a full time job as well as a part time job in the computer field. Ed is also the coordinator and a computer teacher in the local community education programs. He enjoys watching & playing sports (especially the N.Y. Yankees), computers and music. As a family, we like to play with Katelin, go to the movies, and go to various places, such as the zoo, circus and aquarium.

Our Background and Adoption in our Lives Steph and Ed are Catholic and attend church regularly. It is actually the same church that we were married in, and Katelin was also baptized there. We attend many church events such as the annual Easter egg hunt, and various other functions.

We belong to an adoptive parents support group of which Ed and Steph are Board members. We believe in open adoption because it is our feeling that a child should know about their background. We have familiarized Katelin with adoption by reading children’s books about adoption, celebrating her adoption day, attending an adoptive families playgroup, in addition to also attending annual events affiliated with our adoption support group.

In Closing We are very excited about the opportunity to welcome a second child into our lives. Katelin is especially excited at the possibility of becoming a big sister. We admire and respect your decision to make this difficult decision in your life.
