Rodney & Lisa are hopeful adoptive parents from North Carolina waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents for your child. We are very excited about building our family through adoption. We will provide a loving, happy, stable, and secure home for our child. We are anxious to provide our child with lots of opportunities to explore the world and develop into the person they are meant to be. We want to love them, give them a solid moral footing, and guide them to become happy, loving, kind, productive citizens of the world.

We respect the careful consideration you are giving your decision and we believe you will make the choice that is best for you and your child. We wish you wisdom and peace during this time. We hope that after reading about us you will have a good idea of who we are and what kind of life your child would have with us.

We'd love to talk with you and get to know each other. Please contact us anytime at 1-888-493-8394 or Send us a message
About Us We first met at work in the fall of 1994. We connected immediately and became great friends. We started dating soon after and quickly discovered that while we are very different people, we fit together and complement each other perfectly. We knew a month after our first date that we would get married. We married in 1997 and have been married 10 years. We are best friends and love spending time together. Our relationship is based on mutual respect, friendship, kindness, and a deep love for each other.

Rodney has a Ph.D. in Sociology. He has a great collection of guitars and mandolins and enjoys playing music as well as listening to it. He is an avid reader and loves science fiction books. He looks forward to taking a little companion on his trips into the country to see what they find together. Lisa has a Master's degree in Applied Sociology. She loves to get lost in a good book, listen to music, and make scrapbooks that show all of the fun we have on our travels and in our everyday life. As our child grows, Lisa can't wait to share our yearly holiday cookie making tradition with him or her.

Our Family
We are very close to our families and have close friends that we also consider family. We have family in North Carolina, California, Kansas, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, and New York. We love to travel to visit our family and make sure to see our nieces in KS and CA as often as we can!

Our parents, siblings, and friends are all looking forward to the newest family member and are ready to embrace our child! Rodney's family is ready to play hide-and-seek and love our child. Grampa Carley (Lisa's dad) is anxious to take our child for his or her first tractor ride. Our nieces are eager to have a new cousin to play with.
Our Life Our home is filled with laughter, learning, and lots of love. Our life is filled with family, friends, traveling, gardening, cooking, taking walks in our neighborhood, music, photography, movies, and reading. We can't wait to share these activities with a child. We will read to our child and help them find favorite stories and authors, travel to and explore new places with them, and be there to provide support.

We really love traveling - especially with our nieces - and often take vacations with our family. Some of our favorite trips have been to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Netherlands. We also love places closer to home - like the mountains near Asheville, NC and the beaches in Wilmington, NC.

We look forward to taking trips with our child, making up and singing silly songs as we travel to new places together, and finding fun things to do as a family.

Our Home
We live in a sunny, comfy home with lots of room for a child. We have a great yard with room to play and lots of places to plant things. We live in a safe neighborhood filled with children, walking and bike trails, parks, and a clubhouse with a pool.

We live close to museums, the planetarium, movies, music halls, and sports parks. We can't wait to take our child to cheer on the Durham Bulls and for a bike ride on the local bike trails!
Our Careers We both work for a not-for-profit research company. The mission of our company is to make people's lives better through the work we do. We strongly believe in our company's mission. We love that the work we do makes a difference in people's lives.

Rodney is a Survey Director and analyzes data we collect from people about important issues mostly for the government. Lisa is a Program Manager and Survey Methodologist. She manages research projects and figures out the best way to collect the information we need.

Our work schedule is flexible and will allow us to leave early to attend ballgames or other activities.

Thanks for taking the time to read more about us! We'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us anytime at 1-888-493-8494 or Send us a message

Best wishes in your journey! Lisa & Rodney
