Kevin & Christiane are hopeful adoptive parents from Michigan waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthparent(s), Our names are Kevin and Christiane. We are so excited you have chosen to read our letter. Although we do not know each other yet, we do know you must be a very strong, loving person. Choosing to make an adoption plan for your baby must be a difficult choice, but it is a loving choice. We hope we can be the family to give your child all that you dream for her. We would be honored to provide you the peace of mind of knowing you have chosen a home for your baby that will be filled with love, laughter, security, and opportunity.
Who Are Christiane and Kevin? We met in 1998 at the wedding of Kevin’s cousin. Kevin proposed on Valentine’s Day at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. We married two years later at Ste Anne’s Catholic Church on Mackinac Island, MI. Believing that a child would be one of the greatest joys we would ever share, it was not long before we started trying to conceive. After experiencing four years of infertility, we feel adoption is bringing us closer than ever to fulfilling our dream of becoming parents. In May 2008 we celebrated our 8 year anniversary. We have always dreamed our first child would be a daughter. We cannot wait to be parents to a little girl.
A few words from Christiane
The evening I met Kevin I immediately knew this was who God had chosen for me to spend my life with. What makes my relationship so special with Kevin is the way we share common goals, dreams, and hopes for the future. He has a quiet, calm demeanor and a sense of humor that can dry anyone’s tears. Responsible and educated he has two Master’s Degrees in Computer Engineering. Kevin has the strongest work ethic of anyone I know and is an excellent provider. Kevin is a true gentleman who respects me as a woman and supports me wholeheartedly. Well rounded, Kevin has many hobbies including photography and scuba diving. He is a true family man who always puts the needs of others first and offers help (especially with computer problems!). When I see Kevin playing with our nieces and nephews I am reminded of what a great father he will be. Uncle Kevin is a big kid at heart with never-ending patience. He loves making them laugh and bringing fun into their lives. I am very proud of the man he is (if you can’t tell) and the father I know he cannot wait to become.

Now A Few Words from Kevin
I felt extreme pride and gratitude for God’s blessing when Christiane accepted my marriage proposal. I cherish our relationship and love spending time with her. She is hardworking and well educated, holding a Master’s Degree in Nursing as well as several specialty credentials and a Nurse Practitioner License. She loves her profession and her calm, compassionate nature makes her a wonderful nurse. Wanting nothing more than to be a full time mother, Christiane left her job a few years ago and plans to be a stay at home mom. Quiet but adventuresome she enjoys sewing and reading, as well as whitewater rafting. Watching her with our nieces and nephews, I see what natural, strong mothering instincts she has. She will be a wonderful, devoted mommy. We look forward to beginning the family we’ve dreamed of.

Loving and Raising a Child As parents, we want our child to know unconditional love, security, and happiness. Instilling in them the values of kindness, integrity, and respect for others, we want to give them the tools to become anything they desire. As a baby, our child will have toys that will help her grow physically and mentally. She will be rocked to sleep every night with a lullaby. We want her to have a relationship with God and grow in spirituality. We were both raised Catholic and attend church services regularly. Most importantly we will give her our time. We are both avid readers and look forward to bedtime stories and going to the library for books and puppet shows. We believe that education can open doors to all life has to offer. Our child will be given the best education possible. We will help our child with her homework and encourage creativity. There is an elementary/middle school affiliated with our church where we hope to enroll our child. Education can be paired with faith. However, we want to teach our child that not all learning has to happen at school. We have both travelled extensively to faraway places, learning about other cultures and seeing spectacular sites. We look forward to taking family trips and showing our child all that other countries have to offer. Mealtimes are family times; we will eat together and teach our child early the importance of healthy eating. Dinner time will be a time for all of us to share our day. Our child will know the value of family and the joy of giving. There will be visits to Santa at Christmas and Easter egg hunts in the spring. We will applaud our child’s accomplishments and teach her that even life’s disappointments can turn out to be blessings in disguise. We will also kiss scraped knees, dry away tears, conquer the monsters under the bed, and comfort sick tummies. Above all they will be raised with never-ending love and patience by a mommy and daddy who love them more than anything.
Our child will know as much about you as you want. Christiane’s father is adopted and it was a happy, positive experience. Kevin is a great photographer and we would love to share pictures and letters as she grows up.
Our Happy Home Three years ago we were able to build our dream home-a warm 4 bedroom split-level in a quiet township in Michigan. We have a large, fenced backyard with plenty of room for swing sets and playing games. We have a bright, cheerful nursery we have been working on for our new arrival decorated in lots of pink and classic Winnie the Pooh (Christiane is a HUGE Pooh fan). At Christmas we have a 13ft Christmas tree. In the fall we like to dress up for Halloween and go for hayrides at the pumpkin patch. Our neighborhood is full of friendly young couples with children so our child will have plenty of friends to play with. Kevin is a member of our neighborhood association Board of Directors and knows most of the families who live in our subdivision. We live close to a large park where we love to go for picnic lunches and ride the paddleboats. There are also sledding hills nearby; one of our favorite winter activities. There is a large zoo and history museums. We have yearly memberships because we like to go often. One of our favorite places to vacation is Walt Disney World. We belong to a vacation club there, so we go a couple times each year. We look forward to sharing these times as a family. We cherish the time we spend together, whether we are taking a drive up the lake shore to watch the boats, or simply cuddling up with a bowl of popcorn and a movie at home.
Other Members of the Family
Both of us come from small families, but there is more than enough love to go around! Christiane’s sister is a music teacher and is eager to give music lessons to our little one. Christine and Peter (Christiane’s mom and step-father) cannot wait to be grandparents again. There is already a shelf filled with blankets and booties hand-knit by Grandma Christine. Our nieces and nephews all love babies and are sure to provide overwhelming attention. Our family completely supports our adoption plan. They can’t wait for the happy day we welcome a new baby girl into all of our lives.
A Final Word from the Dog
Woof! My name is Perdita and I’m the family pet! Mom adopted me from a shelter when I was only 9 months old. Before that I was living with some people who didn’t like to feed me and broke one of my fingers. I was so happy to find a new home. When dad joined our family I was very happy; after all, the only thing better than having one person to rub your belly is having two! Every year they take me to get my picture taken with Santa. I’m a German Shepherd mix who is 15 years old (that’s about 94 in human years), so I like to do a lot of resting and people watching. I am quiet, friendly, and love children. I am looking forward to having a baby join our family. Mom says babies drop food on the floor sometimes—I can sure help with that! Our house has a lot of love in it, so I hope you will consider us when you choose a family to love your baby forever.
