Jan & Stacey are hopeful adoptive parents from New Jersey waiting to adopt a baby.
If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Hello
Hello and thanks for stopping by. We are Jan, Stacey, and Eliska. It is hard to know what to include in this letter that would help you make your decision. Hopefully as we describe our life and visions, you will get a sense of how much we look forward to sharing our life with a new child. We have been happily married for 10 years, Eliska came into our lives nearly 6 years ago, and we want more than anything for our family to grow into a family of four.
We will speak honestly with our future adopted child about how he or she came into the world and our family. If you choose us, we will always welcome future updates from you and we will keep in touch as well if you wish.
Our life
We are so thrilled about welcoming a new baby into our home and we are waiting as patiently as possible. We have always known that we wanted to be parents to two children so our family is not yet complete.
Jan grew up in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. His parents and brother still live there, and his sister lives in Paris. Jan came to the U.S. for graduate school in civil engineeering in 1993. He designs foundations for buildings and other projects and he's been with the same firm for over a decade. Although he loves his work, he is almost always home before dinner and he is a very involved dad who has a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoys the simple things: a cozy home, day trips with his family, traveling, reading Eliska fairy tales, bike rides, canoeing, hanging out by the fire, and beating his friends in speed chess. He also loves to play street hockey and soccer, and to root for whichever ice hockey team has the most Czech players that year.
I, Stacey, am a stay at home mom, although I spend a few hours a week providing counseling to families. I grew up in Maryland. My parents and sister still live there, and we see them pretty often. I finished social work school in 1995 and after working a few years in therapeutic foster care for children with special needs, I moved into the special education setting, providing evaluations and counseling to children with special needs and their families. I appreciate the simple things like cooking and sharing meals with family and friends, taking long walks and bike rides with my family around town. I enjoy the flowers and vegetables that we grow in the back and I cherish sunny afternoons at the playground and the pool with Eliska and our friends. I enjoy watching Eliska learn and grow into her own person. I like to volunteer for fund-raising projects that benefit children and families in the community. I truly believe that each day is new opportunity to act on something you care about.
Eliska was born in 2002. She is a sweet, imaginative, outspoken 5 year old. She is a good negotiator, very creative, and she is very loving to the younger children in our lives. Eliska has been asking for a baby sister or brother for years. She will be entering kindergarten in the Fall. She loves to spend her time playing “store”, “restaurant”, taking care of her dolls, playing outside with neighbors and friends, helping me cook, painting and many other kinds of art work, and going to the playground. She wants to be a chef when she grows up.
Our community is made up of people from different races, ethnicities, and religions. It is very accepting of families who adopt and of families of mixed race and ethnicities. Many of Eliska's friends are adopted or have adopted siblings. We are very comfortable adopting a child of any background and we know that we have a neighborhood full of supportive, caring friends who will help us along the way.
