Rolf & Christina are hopeful adoptive parents from Michigan waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

We've Adopted a Daughter

America, England and Germany Hi there!

First, we want to say that we are in awe of the decision you are making and admire your strength and love for your child. Adoption is a wonderful choice and we are so happy to have the opportunity to introduce who we are, what we like to do, and what life is like in our home. We truly hope that you will find a little of yourself in our words.

Rolf is British and Christina is American, but we met in 1996 while working at the same company in Germany. We were friends first and both heard the "click!" right away and we married one year later on the same date as our first kiss. We decided to let our sense of adventure take over and we went backpacking together for 6 months on our honeymoon before moving back to the USA. You get to know each other very well when you are together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 6 months! We have been married for 9 years now and we are still going strong. We live on a lake in a great suburb in Michigan, and we both enjoy traveling and visiting family and friends in Europe as often as possible.
Tid-bits! Rolf was raised near London, England by a British father and German mother. He has a business degree and works as an account manager for an American company in Michigan. He enjoys traveling, trains, and all kinds of cars but, most of all, eating yummy food! Christina was born and raised in Michigan and earned a mechanical engineering degree. She enjoys adventurous traveling, wildlife and taking lots of pictures!

We both believe in the opportunities a formal education provides and greatly value our own time at college, not only for the degree, but also for the life experiences it provided. We look forward to giving our children the same opportunities and we are excited to support any direction they choose - whether it be in the arts, sciences or any other field. He/She will be given every freedom to expand their knowledge as they grow up with support and affection in our home. We both enjoy museums, live theater, wildlife and sports and we can already picture places we will visit in the future. We are a very international family, and after spending so much time in Europe and traveling, we have lots of family and friends around the globe. We look forward to exploring old and new places as a trio!

Christina has two Godchildren she adores. Madinina is French and lives in Boston, and Wolfgang is German-American and lives in Spain (we are excited that he’s moving to South Carolina this summer!) Christina is also part of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and has a 9 year old "little sister" named Jade. They do tons of stuff together - they recently saw the Wizard of Oz on stage, they play twister any chance they get, they hang out on the lake, and Christina arranged Jade's very first airplane ride at a local fly in for kids day. They recently celebrated their one year match anniversary and they are going to Cedar Point to celebrate in a few weeks. Rolf gets to have fun too - he dyed his first Easter egg this year with Christina and Jade, and went to a cider mill last fall for the first time. Rolf shares some of his culture too - he made Jade baked beans on toast - a real British treat!
House & Home We both love our neighborhood and our home. We decided to live directly on a lake so we could enjoy the water all year long. We swim and seadoo in summer and cross country ski and ice-skate in winter. We have a great family room with an air hockey table, dartboard and lots of games. Neighbors, family and friends from near and far visit often, so we spend a lot of time enjoying our home. Our quick getaways include hiking in the local metro-parks or spending time up north walking the sand dunes and searching for Petoskey stones. We look forward to sharing those experiences over and over again as a family.

We both love to travel because the world is full of beautiful scenery, friendly people, and interesting cultures. It’s amazing to stand in front of history such as the Egyptian pyramids or swim next to a tropical waterfall in Costa Rica. We truly believe a family that plays together stays together. We have long breakfasts together on the weekends and enjoy working together on projects around the house. Our family and friends are very important to us and we enjoy spending time together. We have an incredible support network in them, and they are very excited about us welcoming a child into our home to join in the fun. We also have three cats - Mocha likes mischief, Java likes yogurt and Cinnamon eats cucumber and corn-on-the-cob, no kidding!
Just a peek so far... Now that you have had a peek into our lives, we hope you would like to know more. We are happy to email back and forth, send more pictures or answer any questions you may have. Call anytime and we can chat at length on the phone if you contact us and give us your number. In any case, we value your choices and will respect your wishes for an open or closed adoption. Adoption will give us and our family something wonderful that we could not give ourselves, and we hope you will find comfort in knowing that your child will be raised in very loving and happy home!
