If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthparent
Dear Friend,
We want to thank you for taking the time to view our profile and getting to know us. We cannot understand the difficulty of the decisions you are currently making in your life but we support and pray for you often. We admire your strength and courage to explore the path of adoption. We pray for you to feel peace and strength through this challenging time. We know it takes a lot of strength and courage to consider adoption for your child. We would love to have an open adoption to keep you in their lives. You will always be cherished and respected for your brave action of adopting your child.
We have a strong and fulfilling marriage. We have been married for over seven years and have been best friends for ten. We met each other at church while teenagers and loved spending time with each as friends at first. Tom went on a mission for our church to Houston, Texas where he learned to speak Chinese. Gayla went on a mission one year later to Eugene, Oregon. We wrote each other for the three years we were separated and even though we could only write letters, our friendship grew and blossomed and was ready to take it to the next level once Gayla came home from her mission. It was an interesting transition to take our friendship to the next level but once we did, we knew that marriage was the right step.
We believe that there is no greater accomplishment in this life than to raise a righteous family. Our number one goal is to be an eternal family. We want to teach our children the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to know that they are children of a loving Heavenly Father. We want our children to know where they came from, why they are here, and where they are going, because we feel that these are some of the most important truths that we can learn in this lifetime. We want our children to have a close relationship with their grandparents as well as their numerous cousins, many of which have been adopted into the family as well.
We believe in showing a great deal of love and concern for children. Spending time with children is so important. We feel that children cherish time with their parents and we pray for the day that we can spend time with our children.
We visit our family members often and enjoy the helping hand received by our family and friends. Our children will be welcomed by grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and other extended family members.
We know that we have a lot to offer a child and are eager to give them a safe, happy childhood, as well as to teach them the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We want to thank you for your time and consideration of us in the adoption of your child. We have spent a lot of time praying about our options to help our family grow and know that we have been led to the path of adoption.
We hope we will be able to work with you and look forward to meeting you soon!
Sincerely
Your Friends
Interests and Hobbies
We love spending time with each other. We enjoy visiting family and friends all over the country and love to travel. We love to go to various countries and to meet people from all over the world. We have traveled to Mexico, Singapore, Fiji, and China, and actually lived in the island nation of Tonga for about a year! We are always up for a good time and are looking for new places to visit and new friends to meet. We watch very little television as we would rather be in our pool swimming, out for a walk, or at the gym. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends and enjoy doing things. We are training for our first marathon this year.

Our family
We both come from great families with Swedish, English, and Irish back grounds. We are very fortunate that our parents are actually very close friends and have very similar personalities and backgrounds. Our families have both valued The Savior, family, and education. Both of our families have a very large extended family with a wonderful built in support system of love and guidance.
Tom is of English and Irish decent. Has a dark complexion in the summertime. He is 6ft. 2 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. Tom has an athletic football player build. He recently finished his Bachelors Degree and will be done with his Masters Degree in Business Administration in October of 2008.
Tom has one sister and two brothers, all of which are older than him. Being the youngest Tom has been able to learn a lot from his siblings, which he is very grateful for. Some of Tom's best memories have been spending time with his parents and siblings on the soccer field as a teenager. Tom's Dad was his soccer coach all through his teenage years and loved traveling around the country playing sports and spending times with the family. Tom's Mom spent many summers taking all the kids to the beach, sometimes three or four times a week! His family is very important to him and considers them his best friends.
Gayla is of English and Swedish decent. She has a fair complexion. Gayla is 5ft., 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. She has an athletic build and enjoys jogging. Gayla has a massage license, Cosmetology license, HR Certificate, and will be done with her Bachelors Degree in October 2008.
Gayla has 2 brothers and 6 sisters, all of which are older than her. She is very close with her sisters and has learned from the great examples of her entire family. One great example is the fact that each child (yes all 9!) served missions. Her parents also served a mission together after they retired. Gayla has fond memories playing instruments with her family as well as singing with her sisters whenever they got a chance. Gayla's family is very close and love to get together for big, happy parties.
