We know that you want the best for your child. You want your child to be raised by kind and loving parents who can provide a stable and safe environment where he or she will thrive and be happy and grow up to be the best person that they can be. That is the same thing we want and that is the kind of parents we work hard to be. We became a family in December 2005 when we adopted our daughter Jessica through open adoption. We respect the sacrifices that her birthfamily made for her and have been thankful for her every day since we first held her in our arms on the night she was born. We value our relationship with Jessica’s birthfamily and are very excited to welcome another birthmother and child to our family.

About Us:
We met in college and have been best friends ever since, enjoying the last 16 years as husband and wife. We feel that our marriage is strengthened because we share similar values, goals and interests and are committed to sharing the responsibilities of marriage and parenting. Very early in our relationship we discovered that we both had a deep heartfelt desire to have children and raise a family. It was a long and tough journey for us to realize the dream of becoming parents but when we discovered adoption, we knew we were on the path that was meant for us. Looking back on it now, we wouldn’t change a thing, even if we could. One thing that our struggle with infertility taught us is what a gift a child truly is. Being parents has brought us so much joy that we can't wait to add another child to our family. We have so much love to give and can't wait for Jessica to become a big sister. Although their stories won't be the same, we will always emphasize to our children that they were placed in our arms with nothing but love.

Although we take our parenting job seriously, we always try to have fun as a family by doing activities that we all enjoy. This includes trips to the zoo, playing in the snow, playing at the park, trips to the Aquarium, trips to Disney, and other places where we can all have fun. We take at least one big family beach vacation every year and all have a great time playing in the water and sand. We take frequent trips to see Grandparents and other family members, including the California relatives which give us a good excuse to go to Disneyland and spend some time on the California coast. We are also big into holidays and really are big kids at heart. We love Christmas present opening, visiting Santa, hunting Easter eggs, fireworks on the 4th of July, Trick-or-Treating and all the other holiday celebrations. We also love to get outside and play. That includes going for walks, kicking the soccer ball, riding bikes (or trikes), drawing on the driveway with sidewalk chalk or just about anything else when the weather is nice. We feel it is important to spend quality time together as a family and what better way to do so than to play.

Wayne about Ginger:
Ginger is kind and energetic with an enormous heart. She is a great Mom who loves kids of all ages and has a patience with them that is amazing to watch. The smile that comes to her face when she is playing with children makes everyone around her feel warm and happy. She is reliable, intelligent and a great teacher. Ginger and Jessica enjoy spending time together singing, coloring, reading and playing games and can’t wait for another member of the family to join in the fun. Ginger has a Masters degree in Medical Science and a career as a Physician Assistant. Ginger was a stay-at-home Mom with Jessica for almost two years before going back to work part-time. She will once again be a stay-at-home Mom when we get the opportunity to adopt again.

Ginger about Wayne:
Wayne is the kindest and most loving person I have ever met. He is my best friend and brightens everyday with his fun-loving nature and good sense of humor. He is also a wonderful father. He and Jessica have a great time together blowing and popping bubbles, building with blocks, and throwing and kicking balls. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and works as a senior project manager for an engineering firm but his flexible schedule allows him to be home in time for those future school plays and sports practices. Wayne is totally committed to family and says that coming home to Jessica and me is the best part of his day.

About Jessica:
Jessica is a bright, energetic, happy girl who loves music, animals, singing, art and being outside. She also likes going to the pool, the beach and the park. Her best friend is our cat, Chloe, who she loves to follow around the house. Jessica loves playing with other kids both older and younger and will be a great big sister. She is very excited to color, build blocks and play at the beach with a little brother or sister.

Our Home:
We live in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia in a neighborhood that is very child friendly. There is a pool for swimming, a playground and a lake with a gazebo for feeding the ducks and picnics. Our neighborhood has great children’s activities including an annual Halloween party and Easter egg hunt. We also live in an excellent school district (one of the best in the state). Our house has plenty of room for us to expand our family and a large yard with a playhouse. We love to hang out in our large kitchen and on our deck where we cook family meals and eat together daily. The kitchen table also serves as the craft center, art table and Play-Doh work area.

Our Families:
Ginger’s parents and brother only live a few miles away. We all get together regularly for holidays, birthdays, picnics or just because. Ginger’s family has always been supportive of adoption and are active participants in our daughter’s life. Nana and Papa jump at the chance to babysit for us and can’t wait to attend the future plays, sports games, dance or music recitals or whatever our kids are involved in. Ginger’s brother is excited to become an uncle again and hopes to someday help our kids with their baseball/softball skills since he played baseball through college. He also is an avid fisherman and can’t wait to teach our little ones to make that first cast into the lake.

Wayne comes from a big family that is spread from coast to coast, but still gets together regularly for special occasions. Wayne’s parents live in South Carolina where his father retired from a career as a Fire Chief. Jessica’s Granny and Pappaw visit at least once a month and are looking forward to spoiling another grandchild. Wayne also has three older sisters, all married with kids. The oldest lives in North Carolina and the other two live in California. There is always at least one cross country trip each year for somebody to see the other part of the family. Wayne’s entire family has been very supportive of our efforts to complete our family through adoption and is looking forward to adding another little member to the family
