michael & jennifer are hopeful adoptive parents from Massachusetts waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Introduction Dear Birth Mother,

We are writing this letter to you in order to tell you about us in the hope that you will consider us as the family to adopt your baby. We hope that once you get to know a little bit about us it will help you to make the most important decision of your and your baby’s lives. Although it is difficult to provide you with a full picture of our family in a letter, we will try to share with you as much of our story as we can.

We have a very strong wish to adopt a baby and expand out family. The reason we are pursuing adoption is that although we have been faced with infertility issues we also strongly believe that in God’s plan we are meant to adopt a child. We could have opted for infertility treatments or surrogacy but due to our strong feelings that we are meant to adopt we decided against the other options and proceeded with our adoption plans.
About our family We will provide your baby with loving, compassionate parents, a warm extended family including grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins as well as a warm, safe home and community environment. Mike has a 22-year-old son, named Jonathan, from a previous relationship. We raised Jonathan for six years of his childhood, although he has grown up and moved out of the house we are close to Jonathan and he is excited to become a brother. Mike has been a great Dad to Jonathan, they spent a lot of time together doing father/son things when Jonathan was growing up. They still love to spend time together now and do so as Jonathan’s schedule allows. Mike loves fishing, gardening, woodworking and working on anything with an engine. Mike is not really a sports person but he will toss a ball around on occasion and loves to play with a frisbee, especially if our dog is around. Mike is a project manager for a maintenance/repair company. Jen has always wanted children and was thrilled to become a stepmother upon her marriage to Mike nine years ago. Jen loves to cook, read and spend time with family.

About our lives Although Jen works full time, her job allows for a flexible schedule and opportunities to work from home. Jen will continue to work following adoption and family leave but will work reduced hours and has family resources in line to provide childcare when needed. We live in a small town and have many friends in our neighborhood. We belong to the same Church that we were married in and we have family members who are part of the congregation as well.

As we stated earlier we have one child from Mike’s previous relationship, his name is Jonathan and he is 22 years old. Jen’s 75-year-old father, Allan lives with us. He is in good health and has been a wonderful grandfather to Jonathan as well as Jen’s four nieces. We also have a 10-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Spot and a cat named Zoi.

Although Mike and I share the same values and goals in life our personalities are different from one another and we find that our differences actually balance each other out. Mike is easygoing and very open. Jen tends to be organized and a bit shy. However, we both put our family first and know how fortunate we are to have each other and our family. Our strengths are that we are loving and generous with our time and resources. Our weakness is that sometimes we put things off and then miss out on doing something special. In our spare time we love to do simple things like work in the yard, go to a flea market and spend time with our family and friends. We do enjoy camping, traveling and going to special events like car shows, fairs and concerts.
Closing We live in Massachusetts. Our home is across the street from a farm and our town is still somewhat rural. We love to take vacation time in the summer and either do small day trips to different areas in New England or get away for a week to the beach, mountains or a special destination.

We hope that this letter has provided you an idea of the home that we would provide to your baby. We know that this is the most difficult decision that you will ever make in your life and we appreciate the time that you took to read this letter. Whatever decision you do make please know that you and your baby are in our thoughts and you have our very best wishes for your future.

Sincerely yours,
Mike & Jen
