Brian & Christine are hopeful adoptive parents from Utah waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Our Story: The Quest for Our Family Dear Birthparent,
We express our gratitude and love for you as you show courage in considering the gift of adoption. We truly believe adoption is a gift of love and we will forever be grateful to our son’s birthmom. She gave us the gift of family. We want to continue building our family through the miracle of adoption! Ashton-James can hardly wait to be a big brother! Together we feel there is someone missing from our family! We invite you into our hearts through this letter.

We are “college sweethearts”. We met in our university's choir and show choir. We had a chance to become best friends through performing together and our choir tour. We developed a great friendship. We always had something to talk about. Finally, after a year of friendship we decided to start dating… and the rest is history. We started our quest for a family after a year of marriage. It was not what we had anticipated. The long journey brought years of waiting, tears, and endless prayers.

We continued our love of learning and education hoping that our efforts would prepare us for our family. Brian received his degree in Math and Computers. Christine received an undergraduate degree in Human Development/Family Studies and Certification as a Child Life Specialist (helping children who are hospitalized). She also received her Masters Degree and was accepted to her doctoral program. We did find peace in our deep friendship and love. We relied on each other. We traveled the world hoping to one day share our love of travel with children.

Our quest for our family eventually brought us to adoption although, now, we can’t imagine children coming to our family in any other way. We are strong advocates for adoption and tell everyone we can about this miracle in our lives. It is a miracle! We are very active in educating our community and other couples. We want other couples to experience our joy. We have a deep love for all birth families and their sacrifice. We coordinate a birthmother’s day program to honor and show our gratitude!! We are so happy to have the gift of adoption that brings together a birth family with our family and have room in our hearts for another child and birthfamily. {EMAIL}
Get to Know Us Meet Brian (as written by Christine). Brian has a warm and inviting smile and his laugh is very contagious. He makes us laugh everyday!
Brian loves to program computers and websites. He works in the travel industry as a computer programmer/analyst. As a family we get to travel the world. Brian really enjoys learning about others through his travels. We have been to Sweden, London, Disney World, Philadelphia, NYC (he love the Broadway plays), Japan, Mexico City, Texas, etc. As a couple we have spent our anniversaries in Hawaii! Brian likes to spend time with our family, go to movies, host summer parties, BBQ, and light fireworks. He loves politics and radio talk shows, and likes to have constructive discussions on political topics. He likes to automate our home and work on new improvements in the house and yard. Most importantly he is extremely patriotic!
One of the best attributes of Brian is his passion about his hobbies. He loves music, going to plays, concerts, opera, and the symphony. He enjoys books, ham radio, Ebay bidding, watching basketball and football games. He enjoys astronomy and the space program. He is our tour guide when we go to NASA and the national space and flight museums. He likes to tackle a problem and get the answer. Because of his insatiable curiosity his nickname is Bug-E-Boy or now that I he’s more mature (LOL) Mr. Bug. Yes he even has a license plate with his nickname.

Meet Christine (as written by Brian). Christine has sparkling green eyes. She has a light about her that draws people to her and people feel comfortable around her. I admire her dedication and love for our family. Christine loves to decorate for the holidays especially Harvest and Christmas! She’s a little competitive when it comes to decorating…she loves to be the first on the street to decorate for the holiday season so it can last a little longer. Our son has his own Christmas tree in his room and she can hardly wait to decorate a tree for a baby!!
She loves music, singing, the theater, ballet, opera, symphonies, antiques, and reading. She loves the synergy of literature and drama at a Shakespearean Festival. Even though she doesn’t think she’s very good at it - she likes to bake and scrapbook. She honors her heritage, thinks it's important to preserve history, keep track of what is happening in our family, and remember her ancestors.
She loves reading and collecting children's books. She loves a treasure hunt, sifting through the rack for a special children's book. She enjoys helping children discover through music, exploring the zoo, park, and traveling. She loves the excitement of discovery!!
She is a tender mom and her happiest moments are reading a bedtime story and singing a lullaby to our son. She loves to be home with him. She is hoping to have another little baby to hold and cherish! {EMAIL}

Meet James (Ashton-James)
My name is Brian Ashton James or my nickname BAJA -- Brian James is after my Daddy. My Daddy has the name James after his grandpa. The name Ashton is in honor of my birthmom Ashlee. I will always remember Ashlee and how much she loved me by placing me for adoption. I like our open adoption too. We exchange letters and pictures with Ashlee and her family.
I love music! I take Kindermusik where I can learn new songs, play instruments (the drum is my favorite), and see my friends. I love to be with other kids!! I love cars, running, the water, playing on the slide, bubbles, and my tricycle. I love to laugh, make funny faces, and tell silly stories. Mommy and Daddy take me on airplane rides. We’ve been to Hawaii and Disneyland. I love the ocean!! I love to say hi to everyone and talk to everybody I meet. I can’t wait to be a big brother!
Mommy and Daddy had 10 years to date so they now take me on dates with them. I feel so big when they let me order my pepperoni pizza or cheese quesadilla! Since Mommy and Daddy waited a long time for me to join the family, we celebrated my birthday every month (just for the first year). It will be even better when my brother or sister can join me in all the fun! I can’t wait to have a monthly birthday party them too!

Traveling, Education, and Family Traditions As a couple, we’ve had opportunities to travel. Brian occasionally travels for business. We want children to enjoy travel and education as we have. From travel benefits with Brian’s employer, we will be able to provide a “hands on” learning experience. We can travel to the various sites being studied in school and make learning fun! For example, BAJA learned about sea turtles and sting rays so we went to an aquarium in Hawaii. When he and his siblings learn about the Boston Tea Party we’ll go to Boston! We will do all we can to give opportunities to explore and learn.

Part of our history is making memories through family parties and celebrations. Traditions are important to our family: the annual July 4th and 24th barbecues at our house, birthday parties, game night, Sunday dinner at Grandma and Nana’s house, and watching fireworks. Christmas is a special time for our family. Nana (Brian’s Mom) gives all of us pajamas on Christmas Eve. Grammy (Christine’s mom) shares the Christmas story. Afterward, we all sing Christmas carols. Christine’s German heritage is honored with Silent Night. We love Thanksgiving as a time we get together to remember our blessings. We honor and celebrate our faith,heritage, and the opportunities of living in this free land.

Family is very important to us. We love being the favorite aunt and uncle. Being a part of our nieces and nephews lives helped us cope while hoping for our family. We hosted sleep-overs, pancake parties, trips to the museum, and hiking. Our nieces and nephews call us when they need help with homework, fast internet, music downloads, or a place to hang out between college classes. Now they love teaching our son everything they know. They have a special bond with him. They continue to pray that we will have children in our home. {EMAIL}
Music, Arts, and Talents We both come from a family that loves music and the arts. Brian is the middle of four with an older brother and sister and a younger sister. Christine is the middle child of 5 with an older brother and sister and a younger brother and sister. These aunts and uncles are waiting anxiously to share their talents with another child. Christine’s siblings play the piano, cello, and violin. Brian’s brother and sisters have many different interests. They sing, are involved in theater productions, photography, and play sports.

We performed for several years with an Oratorio Society. We attend the Shakespearean Festival, go to museums, sporting events, concerts, and ballets. We want children to love music and have many opportunities to develop their talents. Talents we will encourage to be developed in our home include: a good sense of humor, listening, making crafts, fixing things, sports, and serving others.

Thank you for taking time to get to know us better! Our prayers are with you during this time in whatever path you choose.

Love,
Brian, Christine, and James
