John & Linda are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Dear Birthmother Thank you for this opportunity to introduce ourselves and our family.

John and I have known each other since 1990. We have accomplished most of our dreams except the biggest one, to be blessed with a child. We both have worked hard in our careers. We love each other very much and know that our life would not be complete until we have children.

John started his career off as a Marine. He is a true American. He wanted to go to college and knew this was the way to get part of it paid for. I started working right out of high school. I paid my way through college part time and got involved in computers at my first full time job. John went to college full-time after his stint in the Marines.

John and I are also involved in many charities. We have personally held several fundraisers for children’s charities. We have a good friend whose son passed away from Leukemia. We know that we can help others and we do as much as we can.
John’s mother and father have been our role models for this life changing search of ours. John and his sister were adopted themselves through Catholic Charities.

My family is large. I have three sisters and one brother. All three of my sisters have children and I think my brother will be a “confirmed” bachelor for life!! Johns parents currently live in Florida and we try and visit them as much as possible. His sister works for a company where she relocates every few years, which gives us a chance to travel often to see her. My family is local and we also see them as much as possible. Both of our families are very similar. Good, hardworking middle class people with much love to give to every member of our family. They all are very supportive of our decision to adopt and would love to add another miracle to the group.

John and I enjoy our nieces, nephews and cousins. We are considered the “fun Aunt and Uncle”. We take them to Chicago for fun on the lake, theater, dinners, movies and of course the Christmas season to see Santa and the great decorations. They also look forward to parties at our home. We take them boating and tubing and we have a private beach in our complex. We also love the winter and our neighborhood is beautiful with snow covered trees and the frozen lake.
John and I have traveled extensively. Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria are some of the countries we have visited outside of North America. We have been to Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas and Jamaica. Our favorite yearly vacation currently is renting a condo in Naples, Florida. We enjoy each others company very much and also include both of our families on the trip.
We live in a home on a lake and have found this to be wonderful. Our normal daily stresses wash away once we get home from work to enjoy a boat ride or watch the sunset. We are truly living in the best place for us. We know that if we were blessed with a child, that child would live a very happy life in our home. We have three bedrooms, a large family room and a great kitchen. I love to cook, though John might not be thrilled with the result of my creations. The suburb that we live in has great schools, green grass, trees and wildlife. We are dog people and have enjoyed our pets over the last 15 years.

We just got a new puppy named Gracie and she is fantastic. We have nicknamed her the “leaping lizard” because she can jump as high as our kitchen counters. Its is the funniest thing to watch. Our older dog is named Blackjack. He is a special member of our family and he is 13 years old.

John has a motorcycle and loves to see the country with his friends. I on the other hand am not as comfortable on the motorcycle. I do enjoy occasionally riding with him but feel better when “enclosed” while riding in a vehicle. John also loves to workout and play racquetball. I love movies and games. Both John and I love Chicago sports. He is a diehard Cubs fan and I am a diehard Bears fan, at least in September!

I am sure you might be curious on how we would raise a child. We would first love this child like no other. We would also make sure that our child would have as normal a life as our childhoods were. They would have the choice to go to college or not. We are blessed to have funds to make sure this child would and could have a great education. I would quit work or dramatically lower my weekly hours to raise this child in the best way possible. Both John and I are Catholic. Ultimately we would leave that choice up to the child once they reach a certain age.
Please consider us in your decision to raise your child. We are hardworking, good people with a great work ethic, good jobs, a great home and an empty space in our hearts.

We know this is a difficult and important decision for you but I can promise you that our lives would be complete if you gave us this opportunity. We have no set opinions on whether you would want this to be a “closed” or an “open” adoption. We would agree to either. Both John and I have researched and discussed both options.
Thank you for reading our profile. We know you have many to choose from. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that you will consider us.

Warmly,
John and Linda
