OUR STORY
Dear Birth Parents
We are feeling admiration, love, and respect for you as you consider adoption. We cannot even begin to understand how difficult it is to make the decision you are about to make. We have a great love for adoption as we have been blessed through adoption with our beautiful son. When we got married we always planned on being parents, but after many years of going to doctors our hearts were broken. We knew then as we do now that adoption is the road that we need to head down.
We have a great love and respect for you. We know the great love that you have for your tender, sweet little one. We hope and pray we have the privilege of knowing both you and your child. We know that as we get better acquainted our love for each other will deepen into an eternal friendship. Your great courage will help you to be able to deal with the trials in your life and will help you make the decision of what is best for your beautiful child.
There are many feels that come to the surface as we think about each other and reminisce about our fifteen years together as a couple. I remember the first date when Andrew took me to the symphony. It was an enjoyable time and the beginning of an eternal friendship.
WHO ARE WE?
Andrew (by Marti)
Andrew is full of life and love. He is one who is always helping others. Andrew grew on a small farm and about five years ago we moved into our home on that same farm. Now Andrew can be close to the animals and ride the horse anytime he desires. Andrew loves to take Austin and any of the nieces or nephews to feed the animals especially when the baby lambs or baby calves need to be bottle fed. He always says that animals bring out the best in a child. I guess you can say Andrew is a child at heart. Andrew is a great dad and husband. I love to watch him with Austin and admire the relationship they have. When Andrew comes home from work Austin is ready to go play with the animals and help Andrew do the chores.
Andrew is a gardener and loves to see things grow from being small into a beautiful plant or flower. Some of his hobbies are fishing, hiking, camping, horseback riding, playing games, listen to classical and some country music, and most of all spending time with Austin and me. I am grateful that I have my best friend to be with every day.
Marti (by Andrew)
I am honored to have Marti as my wife and best friend. She loves to scrapbook and has put many scrapbooks together that have told many stories of her family and mine. Marti is a great mom. She loves to sit and read to Austin. She and Austin love to clean together. If Marti is dusting Austin has to have his own dust cloth.
Marti likes to read, scrapbook, listen to music, take walks, camp, and most of all be with me and Austin.
AUSTIN
Hi, I'm Austin. I am 3 years old and I love trains. I am full of energy. My mom always tells me that if forgot how to walk, but I love to run and play. I love to play with my cousins who live next door, to swim, and if there is water around I will be sure to find the biggest puddle to splash in. I love to give kisses and hugs to my mom and dad. I love to spent time with Grams and Papa and Grandma and Grandpa. I love to help dad mow the lawn. I love to go on little adventures like the dinosaur park, the zoo, and even a fish aquarium. I love to go camping with my family. I also love to dance. I am a great dancer. I love music and have since I was tiny. I would be the best big brother anyone could have.
FAMILY
We love to spend time with our families. We love the holidays as we get to see some of our family members that live far away and we get to share memories with them. We love having family traditions for example on Christmas Eve we get together with my (Marti's) sister and her family and have Clam Chowder for dinner (something my mother started when I was young). We then have a little Christmas program and we read the Christmas story out of the Bible. It is a great time to spend together. Since Andrew and I were married we took on one of his traditions in his family and that was to stuff the grandparent stockings. They loves this because they love to see what is new this year. It also makes Christmas morning a little bit more fun since all the children are married and gone.
We love to go camping with our families and to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Getting together with our families for barbecues and water fights (Marti's family) and we always try to find a reason to get together with one family or the other. Our families are very important to us and we love being with them and being considered the favorite aunt and uncle.
Conclusion
Thank you for taking the time to read this birthparent letter and we hope you have been able to get a glimpse into our lives and hearts. We want to know that no matter what your choice may be our prayer are with you.
Love your eternal friends,
Andrew and Marti
