Dear Friend, We feel so overwhelmed with love and thankfulness to you for making such a hard decision that will affect our lives forever. We admire your strength and we pray for you often. We cannot imagine the emotions you have felt as you have come to this hard decision. Please know that we want this to be a smooth road for you, and we are willing to help you in any way that we can. We are open to however much communication you are comfortable with and we would love an open adoption. We would love to share photographs and email on a regular basis. Who else would love hearing about a child's development more than his/her Birth Mom!

Why We Are Adopting

We always wanted a big family. We have two biological children, Jaedin (5½) and Jenacy (3). Directly after Jenacy’s birth, Timber had a severe internal hemorrhage. It was a long and painful recovery and we decided not to have more biological children because of the risk to Timber’s health. We love our two children so much and we know that someday adoption will fulfill our dreams and provide us with a diversity of amazing children.

We are open to adopting a child of any race and either gender. We understand the challenges of becoming a transracial family, and we are ready and willing to meet those challenges. We want the child we adopt to grow up with a cultural awareness of his heritage, and to be proud of where he/she came from.

Our Family Nathan is a very involved father. He is loving, fun, and has just enough silly to always keep us laughing! His job as a corporate pilot has a very flexible schedule. He is able to be home more than just about any other Dad we know. He uses his time at home wisely, always playing with the kids, teaching them how to ride bikes, going swimming with them, reading to them, and just enjoying the quiet times together. Nathan is a calm father and knows how to parent with love. When Nathan is at work the kids love to watch the live radar map on the computer and track where Daddy’s airplane is throughout the day. When he comes home from work the kids always drop what they’re doing and run to give him big hugs. He loves it!

Timber’s passion is being a mother. She is very kind, loving, and nurturing. She is a natural teacher and sees the world as an open classroom waiting to be explored. Just about every morning is spent outside the house: going to the park, or zoo, children’s museum, walking, or to playgroup. The kids always have something fun to do! Timber loves the quiet times with her family best. She loves to cuddle up together and read stories to the kids. She loves to sing as well. Each child has their very own special lullaby that she sings when they can’t sleep, or get hurt or scared. Every night, Timber reads children’s scripture stories to the kids, listens to their prayers, and tucks them in and ends the day with a hug and a kiss. Every night the kids fall asleep with the certainty that they are loved, and wrapped in the security of an eternal family.

Jaedin is an excellent big brother. He is a natural leader and protector. He loves his sister so much. If any kids are ever being even remotely unkind to Jenacy he is always the first to jump in and help her. Jaedin is adventurous, funny, and has an amazing imagination! He loves Star Wars and light saber fights imaginary villains in the back yard! He is generally an incredibly happy child, although our journey through adoption has been hard on him at times, especially when his friends excitedly tell him about their new baby brothers or sisters. Jaedin has his sad moments and it breaks our hearts when he asks, “Why can’t we have a baby too?” He prays every night that we’ll be able to adopt so that he can have the joy of being a “bigger” brother.

Jenacy is a very sweet little girl. She is calm, obedient, and loves to smile and cuddle. Jaedin is her very best friend. She follows him just about everywhere he goes and they are always playing together. She looks up to him and follows his good example. She loves anything to do with princesses and babies. She carries around her baby doll just about everywhere she goes. She is so sweet and loving around babies. She will make a great older sister!

As a family, we love each others company and we love to do things together. Our favorite times are when we go camping. We all love the outdoors, the smell of fresh air, and telling stories around the campfire. We also love "family dates" where the kids get to pick what activity we do. Jaedin loves to take us bowling the best, and Jenacy loves to take us swimming. Our children's childhood is very important to us and we work hard to make sure they have quality memories and experiences to look back on and find strength in.
