Introducing US Hi and Welcome!
We want to thank you for reading our profile. We know that considering the option of adoption is courageous. We are excited to get to know you and to become friends along this road called life.

After many years of testing and retesting, we found out that we are blessed with unexplained infertility and have embraced adoption. We know that adoption is the way we will fill our home with noise, laughter, and sticky fingers.

We both enjoy traveling and meeting new people. Together we have been to several European countries (France, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy to name a few) and about half the United States. Our passion for traveling led us to each other. We were both studying German (as a minor) at Brigham Young University and found each other in our neighboring apartments. We knew we were meant for each other from our first date.

Each summer we take a road trip to a place we have never been before. Road trips were both something we did with our families growing up and feel it is great for bonding as a family.

We are best friends and love playing and working hard together. We love children and want to share our home that has lots of love, and gratitude. As a couple we've enjoyed biking to work together, landscaping our backyard together, and discovering our love of geocaching. (Geocaching is where you use a GPS compass to find hidden boxes filled with little "treasures").

Some of Doug's interests include singing, Calvin & Hobbes comics, peanut butter cookies, running, and being silly. Doug thinks fun is often the most effective teacher.

Marianne likes photography, volleyball, dancing, family history research, and is a film buff. It hard to find a Netflix movie that Marianne hasn't seen.
Doug Describing Marianne Marianne is a tender-hearted woman with much love to give. She enjoys music and making up little ditties about what she’s doing at the moment.

She has an amazing ability to observe. She sees when there’s a need and then reaches out and gives her all to serve others. I think this is one of her greatest qualities and makes her great mom material.

Marianne is fun and active. She can beat me at Dance Dance Revolution every single time. She’s got a competitive streak that drives her to succeed. When we play a board game, she'll want to play it over and over until she wins, because in our family, the winner gets to sing "I Am the Champion!" at the top of their lungs.

Marianne wants to be the kind of mom, who helps in our children's classroom, coaches their basketball team, or on a summer's night lays on the ground pointing out shooting stars.
Marianne Describing Doug Doug has been my best friend, since the moment we met. He is kind hearted comedian. He is always making me laugh. He loves theater, the arts, and singing. He loves to talk in a silly accent, whether it be a stuffy Brit or a hill billy.

He has the ability to put anyone at ease, he quickly makes friends with anyone he meets. And keeps in contact with many friends. Doug is a great leader and can also play. Often you can find him wrestling with nephews, or painting pottery with nieces. He loves kids and sometimes forgets that he isn't one.

Doug takes "great" care of things and people. He is often thinking of others, and is willing to take the time on things that to others would find difficult. He has incredible patience and can work long hours on a project, like a Bird House, long after other Dads would give up.

For our nieces, instead of getting a coloring book, for them to color. He drew all the animals they could think up, colored them, attached them to wood skewers and then they created a puppet show (that even included fireworks).
Find out More Over the last 6 years of marriage, we have created our family traditions and established our values. We enjoy hiking and camping. We enjoy entering running races. We hope as you look through our pictures you will see that we have similar interests. Some of these interests include cooking, gardening, playing games (Candy Land or Ticket to Ride), and designing projects.

Our family motto is called "Opest and Onum." After we were first married, we would always say, please be honest and open with me. After a long day, one of us reversed the words and came up with Opest and Onum. It is how we will teach the children we raise. We want children to feel they can ask any question or discuss any subject with us.

We will teach the children who are placed in our home that they are loved by their birth parents even before they were born. We want them to know that this adoption miracle was the greatest example of love, their birth family gave them, by giving them both a mom and a dad.

We again thank you for reading about us. Come back and Visit. We wish you best of luck in your search.

Sincerely,
Doug and Marianne
