Brion & Karen are hopeful adoptive parents from Washington waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

We've Adopted a Baby!

Hi We're Brion, Karen & Grace: We admire your courage in considering an open adoption and know that you love your baby very much. Placing your child in the right home is the most important gift that you can give and yet a most difficult decision. We promise to cherish and unconditionally love the gift of your child. Our hope as you read through our profile is that you will have a better understanding of who we are and what kind of life we can offer your child.

We met at a business dinner in Sioux City, IA in early 1999 and were married almost two years later in Seattle surrounded by our friends and family. Our connection with each other began over a love of golf, God, and family, plus it helped that Karen loves to cook and Brion loves to eat. Becoming parents in 2003 was the best and most important experience of our marriage. Grace is a blessing that we thank God for each and every day. And we look forward with anticipation to adding more children to our family.
Meet Our Family Gracie is our precious, sweet, bright, and energetic daughter who we think is amazing. Gracie is so excited about becoming a big sister and prays for a new baby every night. Gracie loves being with people and animals. She enjoys play dates with her friends, hanging out with her cousins, going to pre-school, walking or playing with our dog, going to the zoo, and attending gymnastics class.

Karen loves taking care of our family and feels so blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. Karen’s days are filled with prepping for pre-school, play dates, little gym, and lots of trips to local attractions. Karen’s work background is in sales and marketing, and she still consults for a local medical device company about 12 hours a week during the evenings or while Grace is in preschool. The company has always allowed Karen to work around Grace’s schedule even as an infant. Karen is a high energy person, and she's the first to jump in with Gracie and start dancing, singing, playing dress up or putting on puppet shows.

Brion is a family man and there is nothing more important to him than being a good husband and a dad. He makes it a priority to be home for dinner each night, have a daddy-daughter day each Saturday and be there to tuck Grace in each night. Brion graduated from ISU in journalism and communications, and now works as a senior marketing manager for a large local software company. In between work, family time, and home improvements, Brion is usually filling his time with the latest and greatest sports news or event. Brion is our family handy-man and in between projects he once built a dog house that looks like Graceland (he loves Elvis). He is also a big kid at heart and during family dinners you'll usually find him at the kids table telling jokes.

Rosie is the newest member of our family, she is a Labrador and Basset Hound mixed breed or better known as a Bassador. She is a little over six months old and has the sweetest personality. Rosie has been great at helping Gracie learn to share her parents’ time and to be a helper with meals, baths and walks. Plus she lets Grace pounce, play and chase her throughout the house, they have a blast together.

Our Home: Our home already has a "reserved" sign on the room for our new baby to come home to. Our home is in a suburban neighborhood with five bedrooms that allow us to have a room for each child, a playroom, and a guest room (for grandparents or visiting relatives). Our big central kitchen/family room/eating area is the main assembly place. With large families (Italian and Irish heritages), our home is a regular host to many family gatherings complete with lots of food, laughter and conversation. Our backyard is fully fenced with a swing set, sandbox, slide, tower and playhouse that Gracie, her friends and cousins regularly use. We also have a vegetable garden that we tend to each summer. The street we live on is flat so it's perfect for riding bikes and taking easy strolls to the nearby walking trail. We are also blessed with many great parks, beaches, play areas and walking trails nearby plus a top rated school district.
Our Family: Karen and her family are all from and still live in the greater Seattle area. Both of Karen's parents have been happily remarried for over 20 years each and are actively involved in our lives. Karen's four siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins are all super generous people who love to get together for BBQs and parties of all kinds. One of our favorite family traditions is getting together on SeaFair Sunday at our relatives lakefront cabin for croquet, swimming, boating, food and visiting.

Brion was born and raised in Iowa, and his parents, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins still live there. Brion's three younger brothers live in Denver, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia, and Brion has two sets of aunts, uncles and cousins that also live in Denver. They may seem spread out, but they keep in constant contact and when an announcement of any kind of events goes out (e.g. graduation, baptism, wedding), they are all ready to get together. Brion's parents schedule regular visits to our home to spend time with us and Grace, and make an effort to talk with us weekly.

We are also blessed with friends both here and in Iowa that are part of our extended family. Going to the fair, zoo, local events, hiking or exploring is great fun with our friends. Weekend getaways and vacations with friends has become one of our family's traditions.
Thank You! We always knew that we wanted to be surrounded by and have a big family. It took us a couple of years to be blessed with Grace and after being faced with infertility, we know without a doubt that adoption is how we want to complete our dream family.

We know we can offer your child a safe, secure, fun-filled, Christian, loving family with all of life's advantages. We are financially secure, have been married eight years, are parents to Grace and have an incredible support system of family and friends who can't wait to embrace and love Gracie's new little brother or sister.

We look forward to getting to know you and learning what your hopes and dreams are for your child. Thank you for reading our profile. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you. You may call us at 877.875.9753 or Send us a message anytime. Until then may God bless you.
