Michael & Bobette are hopeful adoptive parents from Utah waiting to adopt a baby.

Our family Hello! Our names are Mike and Bobette. We are excited to tell you about ourselves and help you get to get to know us a little bit. We have been married for 11 years. Each year just keeps getting better and better. We met and became friends in our church group in college. As friends we went on double dates with each other. After one particularly interesting double date to a Valentine’s Day dance after Mike spilled strawberry lemonade all over Bobette’s white dress... twice... we knew that we really liked each other. It was not long after that we were married. We both think being married to each other is so awesome and we are grateful every day that we have each other. We are best friends and we love spending time together. We have one great son named Aidan. He is 6 years old going on 21. We are grateful to have him in our family! We can't forget the other member of our family, our cute black lab named Tag.

Why adoption We are so grateful for our enthusiastically outgoing and friendly son Aidan! Sometimes we feel like we are the most fortunate people in the world because we were so blessed to be able to adopt Aidan. A sweet young girl named Rachel chose us to be his parents. Meeting Rachel was such an amazing experience for us because we were able to see how much she loved her son and how much she wanted to give him some things that she was not able to give him. She wanted him to have a mom and a dad who loved each other. She wanted him to grow up in a loving family who had strong moral values and lived by those. We have tried our best to live up to that! We really enjoyed getting to know Rachel and we will forever be grateful to her for what she has done for us. We were able to exchange lots of pictures and letters with her. Now we are able to keep those things for Aidan that we enjoy sharing with him.

Adoption has been such a blessing in our lives and we have had some great experiences with it! We are hoping that we can have another great adoption experience someday soon!

Fun stuff about our family As a family we have done some really fun things. Probably our favorite thing to do right now is to go bike riding. We have some great bike trails close to our home and a son who loves his bike! We grab our Camelbacks and snacks and hit the trail. We have a favorite ice cream shop that we frequent when we want to add back the calories that we burned biking. Another fun thing we do together is a catch a new family movie at the movie theater. The movie theater popcorn is the best thing about movies! Grandmas and grandpas live fairly close and spoil us all rotten so we love going to visit.

Mike and Bobette enjoy going out on dates together whenever we can. We enjoy going to the latest movie, again with the getting of the ice cream for Bobette, and going out to dinner. Some of our favorite and least expensive dates have been after we have put Aidan to bed. We are popcorn lovers at our house. So we make caramel popcorn and watch a movie cuddled up together on the couch.

Some of Bobette’s hobbies include decorating, painting, sewing, blogging, and photography. She also plays the piano and organ. Bobette has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education. She taught school until Aidan was born and then she quit to become a full time mom. She loves it! She is on the PTA board and she enjoys volunteering in Aidan’s class. Some words to describe Bobette are picture frames, fudge, pedicures and shoe shopping.

Mike is a self-proclaimed computer geek. If it has anything to do with computers, he loves it. Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. (Wait, didn't you just say computer geek?) He works for an internet marketing company and spends his days developing webistes and internet applications. He is also a lacrosse official and he really enjoys the game. Some words to describe Mike would be biking, lacrosse, soccer, computers, and movies.

Aidan is our conversationalist. He has never been shy in his life. He just love being around people. He is very energetic which I’m sure his teacher just loves. He is a sweetheart and loves to share everything he has with others. Aidan loves his friends, cousins, bike riding, playing in the snow, playing in the water, eating macaroni and cheese and drinking chocolate milk. He recently started school and his favorite subjects are recess and lunch.

We recently made some goals as a family. We started our own vegetable garden and we are really enjoying it. Each year we expand our garden just a little bit more to add some more of our favorite veggies. Our garden is the envy of the neighborhood. Another goal we have is that we have a family night once a week. On this night we keep all our schedules free so we can spend time together as a family. Some of our family night activities have been reading together, going on bike rides, getting a treat, going to the park or doing something nice for another family. We also have a weekly tradition at our house. We make our own sourdough pizza every Sunday after church. It is very yummy and we enjoy inviting friends and family over to enjoy it with us!

What we are all about Mike and Bobette have both been blessed to grow up in great families that had high moral standards. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are so grateful for the opportunity that we have to be a part of a group of such wonderful, faithful people. We know that our savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that he loves us. We know that our Heavenly Father lives and blesses our lives every day. In return we want to do everything we can for those around us to show how much we love our Heavenly Father and our Savior. We are trying to teach Aidan every day how much worth he has in our eyes and in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. We can also show our love for him and for others by treating everyone with kindness and respect and for striving every day to be a little better. We also know that our Heavenly Father wants all of his children to be happy. Our family tries very hard to find the joy in every day things and we are so grateful that we have each other.
