Brad & Sara are hopeful adoptive parents from Illinois waiting to adopt a baby.

If you are pregnant and considering placing your child for adoption, please read the following Dear Birthmother Letter.

Congratulations!
We've Adopted a Boy.

To Someone Special Thank you for reading our letter. We imagine that this is a very difficult and challenging time in your life. Making an adoption plan for your child takes courage and unselfishness. We feel that we have a lot of love to give and are deeply grateful that through adoption we will have a chance to become parents.

This spring we will celebrate our sixth anniversary. We joke about how on our first date Sara quizzed Brad on his desire for children. We were immediately drawn to each other and felt life wouldn’t be complete without parenting. Little did we know what lay ahead. Our marriage and commitment to each other has strengthened through the losses we have endured in trying to build our family.
OUR HOME, FAMILY and FRIENDS We live in a new condominium in Chicago. We plan to move into a home in our neighborhood in the next year or two and have been enjoying house hunting! Our home is close to two wonderful parks where we like to take our puppy, Gracie, to run and play. Our neighborhood is full of young families and child centered activities which celebrate diversity and curiosity. We enjoy walking to the local coffee house and park where we watch children playing baseball and having fun with their families.

Our friends and family are an integral part of our lives. Sara’s two close friends are mothers and we enjoy hanging out at their homes making pizza and playing. Sara’s brother and family live close by and we often take care of our niece and nephew. Sara likes to make muffins and other treats with her niece. Both children enjoy going to our local ice cream parlor where they often jockey to be the one sitting next to Uncle Brad. They will be the best cousins a little girl or boy could have. Sara’s parents live in Indianapolis and frequently come for weekends. Brad’s parents and sister live in Florida and we see them at least twice a year. Our parents and siblings are eager to have a new child in the family.
HOBBIES AND CAREERS We have lots of interests that we look forward to sharing with our child! Brad is an avid bicyclist who races competitively. He looks forward to trading in his racing wheels for training wheels. He plays the bass guitar and we enjoy going to see live music in the city. Sara loves to run and has competed in the Boston and Chicago Marathons. She even finished the marathon in 3 hours and 5 minutes! She also enjoys yoga and cooking. We love reading and value education. A typical weekend might include biking together and catching a movie and dinner with friends. We also enjoy traveling and learning about new cities and cultures. We attend a church in our community that we were drawn to because of the warmth and openness of the pastor and congregation. We can’t wait to share all aspects of our lives with our son or daughter.

We both have found fulfilling careers. Brad's hard work and enthusiasm for his sport has propelled his career to working for one of the top bicycle distributors in the country. Sara is a clinical social worker who sees patients one on one providing a caring ear. She also works for a charity agency where she provides much needed support to young adults. This work allows her to give back to the community and connect with her peers. Her job has a great deal of flexibility and she is looking forward to greatly reducing her hours to be at home with a baby.
THANKS We respect and admire you for choosing life. If we are so lucky to be given the opportunity to raise your child, we assure you that he or she will know what a special person you are. Knowing you through your son or daughter, we will forever be a part of each other's lives. Although we will always respect your privacy we would also welcome having an open line of communication. We hope that we have given you a sense of who we are. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

Warmly,
Sara and Brad
